Villa agree deal for Cuellar - Transfer News Today.
Rangers seem to already to be paying the price for the failure to secure a place in this seasons Champions League competition with the news that Aston Villa have agreed a fee with then to take Spanish defender Carlos Cuellar to Villa Park.
The fee is thought to be around £7.9 million and the move was sparked when the Spaniard invoked a release clause in his contract. There is no doubt that the loss of Cuellar will be a major blow to Walter Smith as he was a key figure for Rangers in their run to the UEFA Cup Final last year.
Another day and yet another midfielder linked to Arsenal! This time it is Marseille`s Lorik Cana, but the asking price of £20 million is almost certain to end any interest from the Gunners especially with other targets higher on Wenger`s wish list.
Meanwhile the hopes of Manchester United and Spurs to land European Championship top Scorer David Villa seems to have taken a knock with the Spaniard claiming he is in no hurry to leave Valencia and move to the Premiership.
