Vaughan quits asEngland Skipper - Cricket.

Michael Vaughan ended his 5 year reign as England cricket captain today. The news was announced at a press conference this morning and though one must feel sympathy for the man who has in the past lead England to some memorable victories few can argue hat he has gone at the right time.

The England selectors will name a new Captain tomorrow for the final test against South Africa at the Oval though the early money is on Kevin Peitersen to combine the test job with that of one day captain as Paul Collingwood resigned from that role also.

The selectors are believed to be in favour of the same man doing the 2 jobs and the only concern would be the effect it could have on the form of England's most dangerous batsman.
