Top ref suspended.
Top referee Mark Clattenburg has been suspended following reports of his alleged debts. He was due to take charge of this coming weekends Community Shield match between Manchester United and Portsmouth but the game has now been handed to Philip Walton instead.
The problem stems from alleged debts on his company which was wound up this week and the decision by the FA and Referees Union was taken in the best interests of Clattenburg.
