Spurs eye Forlan and Ashton - Transfer Talk Today.
It would appear that with the sale of Robbie Keane and the possible departure of Dimitar Berbatov that Spurs are being linked with every forward with two legs!!! The last two names to be linked with the North London outfit is Diego Forlan of Atletico Madrid and Dean Ashton of West Ham. Both would be good additions to what is becoming a very strong Spurs squad (remember this is coming from an Arsenal man!) But with Darren Bent being in such great form with 9 goals in 4 friendlies and Berbatov still at the club Ramos may hold fire till nearer the end of the transfer window before going into the market again.
The signing of Rafael Van Der Vaart by Real Madrid from Hamburg could bring closer the departure of Robinho to Chelsea. The Brazilian star seems to be doing a"Ronaldo" by telling anyone who will listen how he admires Chelsea and in particular coach "Big Phil" Scolari which will not win him many popularity contests in the Real dressing room and it seems that it will be when not if he joins Chelsea.
Fulham boss Roy Hodgson seems finally to have landed Andy Johnson from Everton for a reduced fee after complications found during his medical and it could prove to be a very shrewd signing as Johson at his best is one of the sharpest and most underrated forwards about.
Everton may well spend some of the fee they receive from Johnson`s move on bringing Alan Smith to Everton from Newcastle. The former Leeds and England man seems to have lost his way at St James Park and a move could well be the thing he needs to re launch his career that has stalled since his horrific injury during his time at Manchester United.
