Spurs end Arshavin chase - Transfer News
Spurs are reported to have ended the chase for Russian midfielder Andre Arshavin. The Zenit St Petersburg midfielder was allegedly pursued by several clubs including Arsenal and Barcelona this Summer after his role in getting Russia to the Semi Finals of the European Championships, however the price and wage demands of the club and player respectively seems to have scared most of his pursuers off for the time being, and it is likely now that Spurs will turn their attention to his Russian colleague Roman Pavyluchenko.
Ronaldo`s potential move to Real Madrid was dealt a blow yesterday when the Spanish champions signed Raphael Van Der Vaart from German club Hamburg. The Dutch international was impressive during the European Championships and his fee reported to be in the region of £7 million could turn out to be a bargain. What it means to the Manchester United primadonna is that Real have signed a player who is in direct opposition for a place in the team, and could signal the end at lest for the time being of any proposed move.
