Rotherham set to be docked 17 points - League 2 News

Following on from the 30 point penalty inflicted upon Luton Town last month it looks increasingly likely that Rotherham United will be docked 17 points due to failure to reach an agreement with their creditors.

The situation is further worsened by the fact that they will be plying their home matches for the foreseeable future at the Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield. Rotherham have been beset with financial problems for a couple of seasons and were last term deducted 10 points for the same reason.

The future of Bournemouth will be decided at the end of this week with the Cherries also likely to have points taken from them and if it is a similar amount to that of Rotherham which it is likely to be the relegation battle to the Conference already looks like a 3 horse race provided all 3 clubs involved survive that long.

For the sake of football and lower league football and fans in particular i hope they do.
