Murray clinches first Masters Title.
Andy Murray clinched his first Masters title yesterday when he defeated Novak Djokovic of Serbia 7-6 7-6 in the Final of the Cincinnati Masters.
Though the scoreline was close Murray always looked more at ease and in control especially on his service games and in the sweltering heat slowly started to wear down his opponent who had defeated new World number one Rafa Nadal in the Semi Final.
The young Scot was a example of control aggressive tennis and Djokovic became increasingly more frustrated as the match went on often looking into the crowd for his coach as Murray turned up the already considerable heat.
The win lifts Murray to a career high in the World rankings of 6 and takes him into the Olympics where he represents team GB as a real medal prospect.
