Gallas keeps Gunners Captaincy.
Arsenal manager Arsee Wenger announced yesterday that William Gallas would keep the captains armband this season.
Many Arsenal supporters, me included were shocked and disappointed by his behaviour at the end of the Birmingam City match last season and felt that his actions destabilised the team at the wrong time, given the youth of the side the sight of their experianced captain sitting on the floor sulking and doing everything but sucking his thumb could not have gone down well in the dressing room.
Apparently however Gallas has learnt his lesson, and hopefully he can lead the team in a manner becoming a captain of Arsenal in what is now a make or break season for the club.
Other news on the Arsenal front is that Togo international Emmanuel Adebayor has apparently pledged to stay at the Gunners and is in the process of signing a new contract. Adebayor will have a lot to prove this season and hopefully he will be up to the task as his messages have been mixed and many supporters are confused.
This may sound like a typical supporter moaning but i have been an Arsenal supporter for over 40 years and the club is always going to be bigger then any player, i am also one of millions of supporters all over the land who love their side and would have given anything to have been in the privileged position to play for them, so hopefully when Mister Gallas and Adebayor next kiss the club badge they really think what it means to wear it.
