Champions League draw fairly kind to British sides.

The draw for the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League was made this morning in Nyon and it has been fairly kind to the British sides involved. They all managed to miss the real banana skins of Atletico Madrid and Galatasaray and have been paired with sides that they should manage to overcome over two legs.

Arsenal find themselves facing Steve McLaren`s new charges FC Twente for the right to reach the group phase in a tie the British press will cease upon with great interest, the first leg is in Holland on the 12th or 13th August.

Liverpool too should feel confident of their chances as the travel to Belgium in their first leg to face Standard Liege whilst the reward for Rangers to overcome Kaunas in the 2nd qualifying tie is a two leg match against either Aalborg of Denmark who hold a 5-0 advantage over their 2nd round opponents Modrica.

The pick of the other ties see Schalke 04 v Atletico Madrid, Barcelona v Beitar Jerusalem or Wisla Krakow,Juventus v Tampere or Artmedia and Galatasaray v Steaua.
