Barry move on hold again - Transfer Gossip

In a Summer of protracted transfer deals the long running saga of Gareth Barry`s proposed move to Liverpool seems to have taken another twist with speculation that Liverpool may be forced to pull out of the move as they are unable to fund it.
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has seen a proposed move from Hamburg for Dirk Kuyt come to nothing and now seems to be in a position where he cannot sell Xavi Alonso as he has injury doubts over Steven Gerrard.
They door may now be open for Arsene Wenger to make a move for the England man.

Chelsea are reported today to have put in a bid for Real Madrid and Brazil forward Robinho said to be in the region of £20 million. Robinho has been about as popular as Ronaldo in Madrid with his constant statements of his desire to move to the Bridge and it seems likely now that he will get his way and link up with Scolari after his participation n the Olympics.

Another want away player Andre Arshavin of Zenit St Petersburg is allegedly reported to have threatened strike action if he is not allowed his dream move to Spurs, (actually he must dream a lot as he also had the same dream about Barcelona and Arsenal!). However Spurs may withdraw their interest in the Russian midfielder if Zenit do not drop the asking price which is said to be in the region of £19 million.
