Zarate joins Lazio.
Former Birmingham City star Mauro Zarate has joined Lazio on loan from Al-Sadd.
The Argentine striker spent the second half of last season with Alex McLeish's side and scored four goals in 14 games.
However, after the Blues were relegated from the top-flight, he headed back to his parent club.
Harry Redknapp's Portsmouth were understood to be interested in signing the player.
But Zarate has now chosen to move to Italy, with Lazio having the option to make the move permanent once the loan has finished.
