Storming Norman leads Open. - Gold Day 3 British Open
Australian Greg Norman went into the final round of the Open at Birkdale 2 shots ahead of his closest rival after a gutsy round of 72 yesterday. He is now +2 over for the tournament ahead of defending champion Padraig Harrington and Korean K J Choi who lost the lead after a round of 75.
Weather conditions were again not helpful to the players on a day where a par or bogie must of felt in some cases like a birdie.
At 53 Norman who has recently married tennis ace Chris Evert is looking to become the oldest player ever to win the Open, and after the previous 3 rounds of golf he has put in it will take some effort from the pack to deny him.
All is set for a thrilling days golf with weather conditions predicted to be better the the previous 3 days with sunny spells, though the wind may still be a factor.
