Spurs hit 8 - Friendies round up.

Tavernes 0-8 Tottenham Hotspur Geovanni dos Santos got his Spurs career off to a fantastic start on Monday night by scoring twice in his team's 8-0 thrashing of Spanish side Tavernes. Manchester United and Liverpool targets Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane both played a part in the game, but neither found the net as other Spurs stars shone. Aaron Lennon headed home the first on 27 minutes, before Tomas Pekhart added the second early in the second period. Dos Santos found his first shortly after, and added his second on 68 minutes, five minutes after Pekhart had found his second. Steed Malbranque hit the sixth fourteen minutes from the end, before two goals in quick succession on 84 and 85 minutes from Jamie O'Hara completed the scoring to give Juande Ramos a fantastic start to his side's pre-season preparations. Macclesfield Town 1-2 Blackburn Rovers Paul Ince's reign as Blackburn Rovers manager got off to a successful start as he guided the Ewood Park outfit to a 2-1 win over former club Macclesfield Town. While David Bentley, Roque Santa Cruz and Andre Oijer were absent from the squad, Ince fielded a strong eleven, and after an even first half it was the visitors who took the lead in the build up to the break, with David Dunn curling a stunning effort into the bottom corner. Paul Gallagher added the second for an entirely-changed Rovers side in the second half, and although Martin Gritton tapped-in to give the hosts hope, Ince's men were comfortable in the closing stages and began their pre-season campaign in confident fashion.Next game: TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (A) Monday 21st July

North Ferriby United 0-4 Hull City Premier League new-boys Hull City kicked their pre-season off with a comfortable 4-0 win over non-league North Ferriby United. Phil Brown named two different sides for each half (both just 35 minutes long), but both Tigers teams put in strong performances. New signing Geovanni played in the first period, but it was two established Hull stars who opened the scoring, with Dean Marney and Will Atkinson finding the net inside the opening fifteen minutes. The likes of Boaz Myhill and Caleb Folan appeared for the second half, and the former Wigan forward set up the third goal on 52 minutes with a neat header which allowed Michael Turner to hit home. Veteran Nicky Barmby then found the fourth in the closing stages to complete a solid display from the Tigers. Next game: Winterton Rangers (A) Tuesday 15th July
