Ronaldo out for at least 3 months.
Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo will definitely be out of action for at least three months, according to the physio of the Portugal national team.
The 23-year-old winger has been at the centre of a high-profile transfer tug-of-war between United and Real Madrid throughout the summer.
The Old Trafford club insist an unsettled Ronaldo is not for sale despite reports of a world-record transfer fee switch to Spain.
But wherever he plays his club football next season, Ronaldo will begin the campaign on the sidelines following ankle surgery last week.
"We are going to use everything that is possible to us and that will help him recover as quickly as possible," said Portugal physio Antonio Gaspar.
"But Cristiano Ronaldo will not be in an optimum state for the competition until 12 weeks are up. He is working very well and he is optimistic.
"These first four weeks he will do the rehabilitation work in my clinic.
"After the first month, the Manchester United doctors will carry out another exam."
