Isinbayeva breaks Pole Vault World Record - Atheletics.
Russia`a queen of the Pole Vault Yelena Isinbayeva broke her own World Pole Vault record for the 23rd time last night in a Super Grand Prix meeting in Monaco, to warm up nicely for the Olympics which start in Beijing,China on the 8th of August.
The Russian cleared 5.04 meters at her third and final attempt to break the previous best set by her in Rome earlier this month by 1 centimeter.
If there is a warmer favourite for an Olympic medal in any event i have yet to here of it and it will be interesting to see how generous the bookies will be when they come to rice the event up, somehow i do not expect a lot of value!
