FIFA admit to World Cup plan B.
FIFA president Sepp Blatter has confirmed that he has spoken to three countries about stepping in to host the 2010 World Cup in case it is forced away from South Africa.
There are concerns about the hosting of the tournament after organisers admitted that a stadium in Port Elizabeth is unlikely to be completed in time for next summer's Confederations Cup.
With less than two years to go until the tournament, FIFA have a back-up plan in place in case the problems with construction, security, transport or power cannot be solved in time.
Blatter revealed in a Sky News interview: "I have spoken to three possible, not only possible, but three associations and countries that would be able to stage the World Cup in one year's time. They need one year [to prepare]."
The FIFA president would not confirm or deny if England were one of the back-up hosts, but allegedly Brazil, Australia and Italy are the three front runners.
