Eto`o to Uzbekistan?
Samuel Eto`o the Barcelona forward has been linked to a move to Uzbekistan side Kuruvchi who are reported to be putting together a $40 million deal for the player.
Eto`o, who it seems is surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp for the coming season has been linked with a few clubs this Summer including Arsenal and Chelsea but this seems to be the most suprising and unlikely.
I have seen Uzbek national team and they have talented players many of whom play in the Russian Premier League but surely a talent like Eto`o should be plying his trade in the highest league, at 28 he is at the peak of his powers and is a commodity rare in World football a proven goalscorer at the highest level.
With no disrespect intended to the Uzbek league i hope Eto`o still has a bit more ambition left in him and joins a major European side, or will the mighty dollar speak again? We will wait and see with interest.
