Murray powers through to 3rd round - Wimbledon Day 4
Britains Andy Murray powered through to round 3 and a meeting with Germany`s Tommy Haas with a comfortable straight sets win over a poor Xavier Malisse of Belguim.
The British number one never looked in danger of going out to the former Wimbledon Semi Finalist in yesterdays encounter.
The other British man left in the draw Chris Eaton went down valiantly to Dmitri Tursanov of Russia again in 3 sets but showed enough to promise more days like this to come in his career.
In a day of yet more surprises Andy Roddick exited in 4 sets to Tipserevic of Serbia, the former finalist fought his usual brave game but the Serb held to may aces up his sleeve on this occasion.
Talking of surprises the biggest of the day was in the Ladies singles when the gorgeous Maria Sharapova was beaten again in straight sets by fellow Russian Alla Kudryavtseva and by her own admission was outplayed by the talented youngster.
Also in the ladies singles Lindsay Davenport had to with draw from her match against Dulko of Argentina and Daniela Hantchukova was yet another big name to exit losing in 3 to Kleybenova of Russia.
The last British Lady also exited the competition when Ann Keothovong lost to defending champion Venus Williams on Centre Court, but again she was not disgrace running Williams very close in the first set.
My personal outside shot for the Ladies title this year Jelena Jankovic progressed to round 3 with a straight forward win against Suarrez-Navarro of Spain.
