Everton manager David Moyes has rubbished reports suggesting striker Andrew Johnson is poised to leave Goodison Park. The England international striker has been linked with moves to a host of the Toffees' Premier League rivals, in particular Sunderland, during the past few weeks. Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers were also mentioned as possible suitors. However, Moyes is adamant the 27-year-old former Crystal Palace frontman is not heading out of the Merseyside club. Johnson has netted 22 goals for the Toffees since his arrival in an 8.6million deal two years ago. "Andy Johnson is not for sale, it is that simple," a defiant Moyes told the club's official website. "He is a highly-valued member of my senior squad and I look forward to seeing him when the players report back for pre-season training."

Striker Emmanuel Adebayor has moved to end continued reports of a move to AC Milan by pledging his future to Arsenal. The 24-year-old Togo international had been linked with a 20million summer switch to Italy after Milan made his acquisition their main priority of the summer. But Adebayor, who has scored 46 goals in 105 appearances since his arrival at Arsenal from AS Monaco in January 2006, claims he wants to remain at the Emirates Stadium. "I am an Arsenal player and have three years left on my contract," he said. "The most important thing for me is to keep on enjoying my football. I'm staying at Arsenal." Adebayor's message directly contradicts a claim from an agent that he was '80 per cent' certain of joining the Rossoneri this summer. On Thursday, Vincenzo Morabito claimed: "Arsenal are looking for Adebayor's replacement. Until that search is over, the negotiations won't reach the final stage, but I am fairly optimistic. What are the chances of Adebayor coming to Milan? I'd say today we are between 70 and 80 per cent."

Middlesbrough are close to completing the signings of three new players, according to chief executive Keith Lamb. Boro have yet to add to their ranks this summer despite allowing a raft of out-of-contract players to leave the Riverside Stadium. Czech Republic striker Milan Baros will not be joining West Bromwich Albion ahead of their return to the Premier League, according to his current club Lyon. The 26-year-old former Liverpool striker spent the second half of last season on loan at Portsmouth after falling down the pecking order at the French club. Baros' uncertain future at Lyon had led to suggestions that Pompey and Bolton Wanderers were keen to sign him on a permanent basis, but the Baggies were believed to be at the head of the queue for his signature. However, new Lyon coach Claude Puel wants to run the rule over the striker before deciding whether to keep him at the Stade Gerland. Paul Robinson is reported to be holding talks with Aston Villa this week over a proposed move to the Midlands club. The former England number one, endured a frustrating spell on the Spurs bench last season, is expected to be shown the exit at White Harte Lane with boss Juande Ramos hopeful of completing a deal for PSV brazilian stopper Heurelho Gomes. It's believed that Villa boss Martin O'neil will offer the England man a lifeline after pulling the plug on a deal for loan keeper Scott Carson from Liverpool- stalling over their 10 million valuation for the player.Ironically Robinson may be poised to replace the man who ousted him from the national team for the ill-fated Euro 2008 qualifier against Croatia last November.
