Kingsgate Native lands Golden Jubilee Stakes - Royal Ascot Day 5.
Kingsgate Native trained by Jim Best and ridden by Seb Sanders was a suprise winner of the Golden Jubilee Stakes on the final day of Royal Ascot.
In winning the event the horse become the first British trained Group One winner of the meeting.
The 33/1 shot came through well to beat War Artist and Sir Gerry with favourite Takeover Target in fourth. Followers of the horse would have been suprised at the generous price on the winner given the fact that he had won the Nunthorpe Stakes last year, which in itself is a quality event.
Supporters of Maidstone based trainer best would of left Royal Ascot happy this year as he also trained 100/1 shot Flashmans Papers on the first day of the meeting and prove that the small yards can still compete against the giants of Ballydoyle and Godolphin.
