Ince suceeds Hughes at Blackburn.

Paul Ince has been confirmed as the new manager of Blackburn Rovers on a three-year contract.
The former Manchester United, Liverpool, Internazionale and England midfielder was believed to be the frontrunner to replace Mark Hughes in the Ewood Park hot-seat following the Welshman's decision to join Manchester City earlier this month.

Ince plus former Bolton Wanderers and Newcastle United manager Sam Allardyce, ex-England head coach Steve McClaren and former Getafe boss Michael Laudrup had all been linked with the post.

Ince though has been selected to take the reins after deciding to end his one-year stay at MK Dons.

The 40-year-old led the Dons to the League Two title and success in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy last season after joining the club following one campaign with Macclesfield Town.
MK Dons chairman Pete Winkleman had vowed to do all he could to keep the 'the hottest young manager in English football' at his club and had previously rejected an approach from Leicester City to talk to Ince.

However, he has now agreed to take over at Blackburn ahead of the new Premier League season.

"Blackburn Rovers can today (Sunday) announce that Paul Ince has been appointed the new manager of the football club," read a brief statement on the club's official website.
"Ince has signed a three-year contract. A press conference will be held at Ewood Park midday on Tuesday."

Ince had previously expressed a desire to talk to Blackburn, saying last week: "It is nice when you are being talked about by Premier League clubs. It shows I've done an okay job in my two years as a manager, which I'm pleased about.

"Blackburn are a great club, with great traditions. They're a family club and Mark Hughes did a fantastic job there, so we will see."
