Harry looks to Shore up defence.
Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp has revealed his interest in signing left-back Nicky Shorey from Reading.
Shorey, 27, was the subject of interest from West Ham United last season, but the Royals reportedly turned down a £4million bid for his services.
However, following their relegation to the Championship, the England international has once again been linked with a move away from the Madejski Stadium and Redknapp has made his interest known.
"Shorey is a player I like," he told the Reading Evening Post. "He's a good player and a good footballer.
"We're looking for players who would give us something a bit different and he would do that.
"He would give us something different to Hermann (Hreidarsson). Having said that, Hermann did a fantastic job for us and was brilliant for me. "But we are going to need a squad and we are going to need cover.
"We are going to be playing more games than ever next season and it's going to be a lot tougher for us."
