The Transfer Trail Winds On - More Transfer Gossip.

Who? - Michael Owen - Speculation Where is he? - Newcastle United Who is he linked with? - JEF United

J-League side JEF United have been linked with a shock move to try and sign Newcastle United's England striker Michael Owen. JEF United are currently bottom of their domestic league and have recently appointed long-time Liverpool coach Alex Miller as their new manager. Owen, 28, has another year left on his current deal at St James' Park and has been linked with both Manchester United and Everton in recent days. JEF United spokesman, Kentaro Shiga, told Nikkan Sports: "We are considering adding players to our squad when the transfer windows open this summer. However, we haven't come to the point where we can name the possible candidates, including Michael Owen. It would be great if we can have a player like Owen with us, as that will increase the attention to our club. But we have just started under our new manager and are still working to put things together in the new administration."

Who? - Petr Cech - Speculation Where is he? - Chelsea Who is he linked with? - Leaving

Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech has rubbished reports suggesting he is considering leaving Stamford Bridge. The future of the 25-year-old Czech Republic international was brought into question after claims from his agent earlier in the week that a "a very big European club is ready to pay 32million for Petr". Several reports also suggested the highly-rated goalkeeper was unhappy at being denied a bumper new deal to match the wages of top-earners John Terry, Michael Ballack and Didier Drogba. However with two years still to run on his existing deal, Cech claims he has absolutely no plans to quit the Blues and is keen to sit down and discuss a new contract. "Contrary to numerous press stories over the last couple of days, I would like to make it very clear to the Chelsea fans that I have no plans to leave the club," he said in a statement. "My sole focus at the moment is next week's Champions League Final and then the Euros. I am very happy at Chelsea. I still have two years left on my contract and I believe the club will sit down with my representatives at the appropriate time to discuss an extension of my current contract."
