Munster lift Heineken Cup - Rugby Union
The boot of Ronan O`Gara ensured that Munster lifted the Heineken Cup for the 2nd time in 3 years yesterday with a narrow 16-13 win over French side Toulouse at the Millenium Stadium
Indeed the Cardiff arena is proving a happy hunting ground for the men from Munster as it was also the scene of their 2006 final victory against another French side Biarritz.
Whilst O`Gara was in fine kicking form the same could not be said for Toulouse`s Jean-Baptiste Elissade who though he landed a penalty,Conversion and Drop goal missed with 2 other penalty attempts that would have given his side victory.
The game was dominated in the main by the forwards with Munsters pack slowly wearing down their opposite numbers but in the end O`Gara was coolness himself as with the scores tied at 13-13 he sent the winning penalty between the posts to spark scenes of joy amongst the hordes of Munster fans.
