McLaren set for Dutch Return.

Former England and Middlesbrough boss Steve McClaren is being linked with a return to management at Dutch side FC Twente.

McClaren watched Twente clinch a place in next season's Champions League on Sunday when they drew 0-0 at Ajax to secure a 2-1 aggregate win in the play-off for a place in Europe's premier club competition.

The 47-year-old has reportedly already been offered the Twente job and will succeed current coach Fred Rutten who will take charge of Schalke next term.M cClaren admitted in February that he would consider a job abroad, when he said: "It's something I'd never dismiss and which, in fact, excites me. The key thing is getting the experience of different cultures. "We shouldn't be insular and think the English Premier League is the be all and end all. I've had offers, mainly from abroad, but none that's really excited me."

McClaren has been without a management job since England lost 3-2 at home to Croatia on November 2007, a result that ended the team's hopes of qualifying for next month's European Championship in Austria and Switzerland.
