Managers Merry go round
It would seem even success now cannot guarantee a manager his job.
The examples of Sven Goran-Eriksson and Avram Grant is a case in point. What have these to men done to deserve the threat of dismissal? In Ericksson`s case he has had the nerve to put together a team that actually looked like they could compete this season and gave them their first double over Man Utd in over 30 years.
In Grant`s case he has managed to have a record just as good as Jose ever did and succeeded in getting his team to a Champions League final which is something the "special one" could never do in his time at Chelsea, also Grant has had the nerve to take Chelsea to within a whisker of the Premier league after looking seriously off the pace in the early part of the season.
Understandably these to men`s record deserves such treatment!!! The common factor with both clubs is that they have Chairmen with ego`s bigger than their wallets (which in Roman`s case is a major achievement!).
Is it a coincidence that the 2 most successful clubs over the last decade Arsenal and Man U have had their managers in place for 10 years plus in my opinion no it is not.
So come on Thaksin and Roman surprise us all and reward success not punish it!
