Grant scoops first award.

Chelsea manager, Avram Grant, has collected his first award in English football after being named the Barclays Manager of the Month for April.

The Blues soared back into Barclays Premier League title contention during an unbeaten month in which they secured ten points from a possible 12. A 2-0 victory against Manchester City at Eastlands was followed by a 1-1 draw at home to Wigan Athletic, before Grant's men reinvigorated their title hopes with a hard-fought 1-0 win at Everton and a crucial 2-1 home success against rivals, Manchester United.

Grant becomes the first-ever Israeli to scoop the prize and the first Chelsea manager in over a year since Jose Mourinho collected the award in March 2007. The decision was made by the Barclays Awards Panel, which includes representatives from football's governing bodies, the media and fans.
