Grant Finally finds Exit - Chelsea sack Grant

The condemned man that was Avram Grant finally ran out of stays of execution and was sacked by Chelsea last night.

One has to ask the question that if a man who has led his side to 2nd in the Premier League, beaten finalists in the Carling Cup after extra time and who lost to the lottery that is a penalty shoot out can be sacked then what hope for any other less successful manager?

Obviously Grant`s days were numbered almost from the day he succeeded Jose Mourinho for no other reason i can see that he was a quiet man without an enormous ego. He did make mistakes tactically but name me a manager including the greatest modern day manager Sir Alex Ferguson who has not (in fact i can think of one or to whoppers from the great man this season alone!).

The usual list of suspects will be wheeled out now with Frank Rijkaard apparently top of the list, but unless they can win all 4 trophies next season it seems Mr Abramovich will be handing out another P45 come May 2009!

Mind you if rumours are to believed Avram could be replacing another manager who has not done much wrong this season but still may face a trip to his local job centre soon, as he is now being linked with the Manchester City job that could possibly be available.

Is it me or is the Premier League becoming more like the football management PC games these days?
