Stevenage v Exeter Blue Square Premier
Stevenage v. Exeter Blue Square Premier
Stevenage were my each way tip at the start of the season for the Blue Square premier, and though it looks like Aldershot have booked the automatic promotion spot, Stevenage are still well placed to give me a return on my anti post bet.
This is a big match as far as the play off places are concerned with 3rd placed Stevenage entertaining 6th placed Exeter.
A win for Stevenage should secure them a place in the end of season play offs whilst a defeat for Exeter would severely dent their chances so a real 6 pointer if ever there was one.
Though Stevenage's form has been erratic over the last 6 games with 3 wins and 3 draws all the wins have been at home and you have to go back to November when Halifax won 3-2 at Stevenage to find their last home defeat.
Exeter come into this game having played Thursday night when they were held to a disappointing home draw by relegation threaten Droylsden so it would be a big ask in my opinion for them to get anything from today`s encounter, add the fact that you have to go back to February for their last away win a 2-0 victory at Grays and i think this adds up to a Stevenage win today.
Stevenage have no injury worries ahead of the game and should be at full strength whilst Exeter may bring in defender Steve Tulley, and their may be a starting place for Steve Basham up front after he came on as sub against Droylsden and had an impact on the game.
Those of you who like head to head stats will want to know that not surprisingly over the last 10 games in recent times in all competitions the home sides have generally come out on top and Stevenage will want to avenge the two 4-0 thumpings they have received from Exeter this season one in the league and one in the FA Cup.
Bet365 are offering 11/10 for a Stevenage win today which is a price i am more then happy to take.
Good luck,
Silverfox
