Snooker World Championship - Tip for final
The snooker world championship is now into it's 2nd week and already there have been a few suprises.
World Champion John Higgins exited in the 2nd round going down 13-9 to Ryan Day and former champion Shaun Murphy is already at home along with Graeme Dott and a lot of peoples pre tournament favourite as an outsider for the title Mark Selby.
My money is on Stephen Maguire, i got the Scot anti post at 8/1 after a few people in the game had commented that he was cueing better then ever this season. He comfortably overcame Antony Hamilton 10-3 in the first round and as i write he holds an 11-5 lead over Aussie Neil Robertson. With 2 frames two win to progress into the quarter finals and a meeting with either Stuart Bingham or Joe Perry he is starting to look good value though his odds of 21/10 to win the event now reflects that fact.
He has been fortunate to be in what i feel is the weaker half of the draw and so avoiding the likes of Ronnie O'Sullivan and Stephen Hendry but he demonstrated in the first 8 frames against Robertson why he is so highly regarded.
