Race for Premiership 5th place hots up.
The race for the 5th position in the Premier league and a UEFA Cup place is still finely balanced after Everton and Aston Villa fought out a 2-2 draw at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.
With 2 games to go Everton have a 3 point lead with an away game at Arsenal and home clash with Newcastle to come. These are not easy games with Arsenal wanting to finish the season well and protect a record of 1 defeat in 54 competitive matches at the Emirates and also Newcastle on a run of good form.
Villa on the other hand have a home tie against Wigan this week and follow that up on the final day with with a trip to West Ham.
Villa have a plus 22 goal difference compared to Everton who are on plus 21 so again there is nothing in it but i can only see Everton getting 3 points from their final 2 games where i believe Villa who are on a better run of form can get at least 4.
This would give Villa the 5th spot that would take them into next seasons UEFA Cup and i believe that come the final day that will be the outcome.
