Champions League - Chelsea or Liverpool for Final?
After Manchester United sealed their place in the Champions League final in Moscow next month it is the turn of Chelsa and Liverpool to decide which of these two teams join the in an historic all English clash.
Chelsea have a marginal advantage thanks to Riise`s own goal deep into stoppage time in the first leg at Anfield last week which earned them some may say a fortunate 1-1 draw. They will be full of confidence also after their 2-1 win over Man Utd in the Premiership on Saturday.
However if there is a team that can get a result away in Europe it is Liverpool. I have lost count of the times over the years a Liverpool team has gone away from home and got the result they need in a European tie and they also have the advantage of being in this position before.
Liverpool have to score tonight to have any chance of making the final and there i believe lies the key. They have to find that balance between caution and aggression. These games are not noted for their goals and even if Chelsea score first the tie will be delicately balanced as an away goal will take the tie to extra time.
I feel this is a possibility tonight and the chance of penalties again are a distinct possibility but as a gambling man i will stick my head out and say if there is going to be a winner it will be Chelsea as their home record is formidable and they seem to have found form at the right time despite all the obvious behind the scenes problems the club are having.
