Serie A Football Italiano Betting

A full set of matches in Serie A tonight and some intriguing ties. The one
that I am going to look at in further detail is between two of Serie A`s
lesser lights.

Atalanta takes on Cagliari with Atalanta sitting 7th in the league and
Cagliari sitting 16th. Last season Atalanta just missed out on a European
place whilst Cagliari was one place off relegation to Serie B.

The secret of Atalanta`s success is built around a very solid home record
which saw then lose only twice in the league last season and that also
sees them unbeaten in the league in 4 games this with 2 wins and 2 draws.
They have beaten Parma and Lazio whilst drawing their last 2 games at home
to Udinese and Torino.

Cagliari on the other hand struggle away from their island fortress and so
far this season have an away record of won 1 drawn 1 lost 3 for 4 against
8 which on the face of it does not seem too bad until you find out that
their last 3 away have all been lost with only 1 goal scored and 7
conceded.

They started their away games well with a 2-1 win at Napoli and a draw at
Parma but since then have lost at Lazio, Genoa and Torino.

Pinnacle is offering the best price of 13/14 at present on a home win and
it seems a reasonable price for me to take advantage of.

Head to head between the 2 sides definitely favours the home side with
neither sides winning on the others ground in any of the last 10 games
between them.

Mar 4, 07 Serie A Cagliari 2 - 0 Atalanta
Oct 25, 06 Serie A Atalanta3 - 3 Cagliari
Feb 27, 05 Serie A Cagliari 3 - 3 Atalanta
Oct 23, 04 Serie A Atalanta 2 - 2 Cagliari
Feb 29, 04 Serie B Cagliari 5 - 1 Atalanta
Sep 27, 03 Serie B Atalanta 2 - 1 Cagliari
Jan 26, 97 Serie A Atalanta 4 - 1 Cagliari
Sep 8, 96 Serie A Cagliari 2 - 0 Atalanta
Apr 14, 96 Serie A Atalanta 3 - 0 Cagliari
Dec 10, 95 Serie A Cagliari 2 - 0 Atalanta

Early team news is the hosts will be without defender Moris Carrozieri,
who serves a one-match ban, but welcome back Antonio Langella, Thomas
Manfredini and Manuel Belleri from injury whilst Cagliari that have a
near full squad available with the exception of injured defender Francesco
Pisano.

So I am hoping Atalanta keep up their good run of form at home with a win
tonight.

Good Luck as ever,

Silverfox

Crystal Palace vs Watford

Off to the Championship for today's tip and the match between Crystal
Palace and Watford.

Palace are 22 in the 24 team league and are now under the guidance of Neil
Warnock which should make them in time a tough team to beat.

Their league record at home so far in the league this season is W1 D3 L2
F8 A10 the only home win coming in a 3-2 defeat of Warnock's former
charges Sheffield United.

Watford on the other hand have taken the Championship by storm sitting top
of the league after 12 matches with an overall record of W9 D2 L1 F22 A12.
Their away form has been very impressive with 4 wins 1 draw and 1 defeat
in 6 games scoring 12 and conceding 8. The one away defeat they suffered
was back in August when Leicester City beat them 4-1 at the Walkers
Stadium.

Since then they have gone from strength to strength and in their last 6
games have won 4 and drawn 2 scoring 11 and conceding 4. With form like
that I am somewhat surprised that the bookies have them at 5/4 for
tonight's clash and I will be taking advantage of that price before it
shortens.

Head to head Watford have won 3 of the last 5 matches at Selhurst Park in
a fixture that strangely tends to favour the away side.

May 9, 06 Championship... Watford FC 0 - 0 Crystal Palace
May 6, 06 Championship... Crystal Palace 0 - 3 Watford FC
Mar 31, 06 Championship... Crystal Palace 3 - 1 Watford FC
Dec 31, 05 Championship... Watford FC 1 - 2 Crystal Palace
Jan 17, 04 Championship... Watford FC 1 - 5 Crystal Palace
Aug 16, 03 Championship... Crystal Palace 1 - 0 Watford FC
Apr 8, 03 Championship... Crystal Palace 0 - 1 Watford FC
Sep 21, 02 Championship... Watford FC 3 - 3 Crystal Palace
Mar 9, 02 Championship... Crystal Palace 0 - 2 Watford FC
Dec 15, 01 Championship... Watford FC 1 - 0 Crystal Palace
Apr 7, 01 Championship... Watford FC 2 - 2 Crystal Palace

Team news as always at this early stage is sketchy but it looks like
Watford will be unchanged for tonight's game whilst Palace will have
midfielder Tom Soares missing while he sits out the second game of a
three-match ban also fellow midfielder Ben Watson is also likely to miss
out after he injured his ankle and hip against Stoke.

So I am happy to take the 5/4 about Watford tonight hoping to start the
week off in the right way.

Good Luck

Silverfox.

Weekend Premiership Betting

Last night`s bet was a winner with Tranmere beating Huddersfield 3-0 in
the league 1 game.

I will be following Huddersfield on their travels and for the chance to
bet their opponents to win to nil as they are really struggling to find a
goal on the road at the moment.

Today I am going for the late match in the Premiership today and backing
Portsmouth to beat West Ham.

Portsmouth have made a fine start to the season despite having a very hard
set of opening fixtures against all the top clubs. They find themselves in
5th position 1 point off a Champions League place at this early stage of
the season and with a home record of won 2 drawn 2 lost 0 scored 11 and
conceded 6 though it must be said that the majority of their goals scored
and conceded at home came in the 7-4 win against Reading.

They are unbeaten in their last 6 games in league and Cup and are on a run
of 5 consecutive wins in all competitions with only the 4 goals scored by
Reading being the only ones they have let in during this period.

West Ham are 10th in the league and have an away record in the league of
won 2 drawn 0 lost 2 scored 5 conceded 4 and have been inconsistent this
term. For me they look a better team all round when Dean Ashton is fit
which unfortunately he is not today.

To highlight their inconsistency they have won 3 and lost 3 of their last
6 league games scoring 10 and conceding 6, and when I watched them against
Sunderland last Sunday I felt they were a bit fortunate to end up winning
the game 3-1.

Recent head to head meetings between the 2 sides have definitely favoured
Portsmouth with 3 wins and 1 draw over the last 4 matches played:

Dec 26, 06 Premiership West Ham United 1 - 2 Portsmouth FC
Oct 14, 06 Premiership Portsmouth FC 2 - 0 West Ham United
Mar 18, 06 Premiership West Ham United 2 - 4 Portsmouth FC
Dec 26, 05 Premiership Portsmouth FC 1 - 1 West Ham United

Team news is that Portsmouth have Pedro Mendes back in the squad but
fellow midfielders Sean Davis and Richard Hughes are banned for one and
three games respectively.

Striker David Nugent is likely to miss out with a groin injury and joined
Kanu (knee) in the treatment room this week.

West Ham's injury list is not showing any signs of diminishing with Scott
Parker,
Freddie Ljungberg, Dean Ashton, Bobby Zamora, Kieron Dyer, Julien Faubert,
James Collins and Calum Davenport all sidelined with injuries.

Harry Redknapp has built a side that I feel can challenge for a place in
Europe this season and with the fantastic support the Pompey fans give
their team I think West Ham will find it hard to come away with anything
out of this evenings encounter.

For those who like to follow trends Harry Redknapp has yet to lose a match
against his former side in a run that goes back to 2001.

So for me Portsmouth to beat West Ham @ generally 4/5 with most bookies,

Good luck as always,

Silverfox.

Latest Footy Betting Info

I was very disappointed with Zenit yesterday as AZ got a 1-1 draw despite
being down to 10 men for the whole of the 2nd half, but hopefully we can
get back on track with todays effort.

Tranmere take on Huddersfield in League 1 tonight. Tranmere a 6th in the
league and a win tonight would take them top of the league on goal
difference from Leyton Orient. The one home defeat they have suffered was
at the hands of Leeds Utd in the first home game of the season when they
lost 2-1 after being 1-0 only to lose to a last minute goal.

Their league record so far is won 5 drawn 5 and lost 2 scoring 15 and
conceding 10 and their home record reads won 2 drawn 3 lost 1 for 8
against 6. The only note of caution is that in their last 6 games they
have won 1 drawn 4 lost 1 for 6 against 6 with all the 3 home games they
have played in that time being drawn.

Huddersfield sit 16th in the league and have a record so far of W4 D2 L6
F10 A19, however on the road they have won 2 and lost 4 of their 6 games
played scoring 3 and conceding 12. Form wise over the last 6 games they
have 1 win 2 draws and 3 defeats but the stat which makes me favour
Tranmere tonight is the fact that on the road in their last 3 away games
they have lost the lot scoring 0 and conceding 9, the defeats came at
Doncaster (2-0), Walsall (4-0) and Northampton (3-0) all three teams that
sit in mid table.

I saw the Doncaster game on TV and Huddersfield were lucky in my opinion
to coming away with just a 2-0 defeat as they offered very little in the
way of an attacking threat on that day.

The head to head record over the last 10 games for those who go by this
particular stat definitely favours Tranmere at home with 4 wins and 1
draw, all the games in this time have taken place in league 1.

Dec 26, 06 League One Huddersfield Town 2 - 2 Tranmere Rovers
Sep 26, 06 League One Tranmere Rovers 2 - 2 Huddersfield Town
Feb 3, 06 League One Tranmere Rovers 2 - 1 Huddersfield Town
Sep 27, 05 League One Huddersfield Town 1 - 0 Tranmere Rovers
Feb 22, 05 League One Tranmere Rovers 3 - 0 Huddersfield Town
Oct 19, 04 League One Huddersfield Town 1 - 3 Tranmere Rovers
Dec 26, 02 League One Huddersfield Town 1 - 2 Tranmere Rovers
Aug 26, 02 League One Tranmere Rovers 2 - 1 Huddersfield Town
Feb 9, 02 League One Huddersfield Town 2 - 1 Tranmere Rovers
Oct 20, 01 League One Tranmere Rovers 1 - 0 Huddersfield Town

Team news at this early stage is that Tranmere will hand a debut to
on-loan Cardiff midfielder Kevin Cooper who came to the club earlier this
week whilst Midfielder Adnan Ahmed is unavailable as he is playing for
Pakistan in their World Cup qualifying campaign.

Malvin Kamara (ankle) and Ronnie Wallwork (bruised foot) are both expected
to shake off knocks in time to make Huddersfield's squad.

But striker Andy Booth (back), skipper Jon Worthington (groin/stomach) and
Tom Clarke (knee) remain sidelined, while Aaron Hardy (hernia) has had
surgery.

So despite Tranmere`s lack of form recently I am taking them to get back
on track tonight with a win as I cannot see Huddersfield getting anything
from tonight's encounter especially without Andy Booth to lead the line.

Good Luck,

Silverfox.

UEFA Cup Betting Latest

UEFA Cup Betting Latest

Good night yesterday with Bremen winning 2-1 against Lazio and the two
strikers I highlighted bagging a goal each.

Hopefully I can keep the run going with todays best bet.

Zenit St Petersburg to beat AZ Alkmaar UEFA Cup Group A 16:30 kick off GMT

These two teams are in the same group as Nurnburg of Germany, Larissa of
Greece and Everton so will be hoping to get off to a good start with 3
teams progressing from the group stages.

To get to this point in the competition Zenit beat Standard Liege of
Belgium 4-1 on aggregate with a 3-0 home win doing the damage.

AZ overcame Pacos Ferreira of Portugal 1-0 over two legs with the solitary
goal coming in the away leg.

Zenit are top of the Russian league on goal difference from Spartak Moscow
after 27 games and so are well into their season and their home record
reads won 9 drawn 4 lost 1 scored 27 conceded 14. The only defeat was a
3-1 reverse to Spartak back in April and since that time Zenit have gone
from strength to strength.

In their last 6 games in the league they have won 5 and lost won winning
the 3 games in that time by scoring 7 and conceding only 2.

At 5/6 best price with Coral bookmakers this makes a home win an
attractive proposition to me.

Their opponents tonight AZ have made a poor start to their league campaign
and after 8 games have won2 drawn 2 and lost 4 scoring 14 and conceding 11
and they currently sit 12th in the table.

On their travels in the league they have 1 draw and 2 defeats to show for
their efforts scoring 3 and conceding 5. Their form over the last 6 games
does not offer much encouragement either with only 2 points being picked
up from a possible 18, and I feel that they will struggle to get anything
from today's encounter.

The other bet I will have today is a more speculative one in the first
goalscorer market offered by Bet365.

Pavel Pogreniak has scored 11 times in the league for Zenit this season
and no fewer then 8 of them have been first goals! Now at 8/1 in the first
goal market I feel a few pounds/Euro can be risked for a good potential
return.

The fact that Pogreniak with 11 goals is supported so well in the goal
scoring department by Arshavin (9 goals) and Zhirinovsky (9 goals) is the
main reason I feel Zenit will come out on top and I would not put anyone
off having a look at the anytime goalscorer market to see what price the
other 2 are.

Just a reminder that this game kicks off at 16:30 GMT today so get on
early if you decide to invest.

Good luck,

Silverfox.

Champions League Gambling Picks

PSV and Fenerbache fought out a 0-0 draw to my tip a loser last night, and
what was more disappointing for me was the fact that Fenerbache played the
last quarter of the match with 10 men after the sending off of Deivid.

Tonight I am staying with the Champions League and the game between Werder
Bremen and Lazio in Group C.

This is a must win game for Bremen tonight as they have lost both their
previous games in the competition 2-1 at Real Madrid and more surprisingly
3-1 at home to Olympiakos.

Lazio have started with two draws a 1-1 at Olympiakos and a 2-2 at home to
Real Madrid.

Bremen are currently 2nd in the Bundesliga 6 points behind leaders Bayern
Munich after 10 games and they have a home record of won 4 and lost 1 of
their 5 matches scoring 17 but conceding 9. The only blot on their home
record other then the Olympiakos game was when Bayern beat them 4-0 back
in August.

In their last 3 home games however they have found their form and scoring
boots with a 4-1 win against Stuttgart followed by an 8-1 win against
Armenia Bielefeld and in their last home game a 3-2 win against Hertha
Berlin.

Lazio are 13th in Serie A and have started the season slowly, already
finding themselves 10 points behind leaders Inter after only 8 games.

The form on the road has been steady if uninspiring with a win at bottom
club Livorno 1-0 in their last away game the only success to go with draws
at 19th placed Reggina (1-1),9th placed Sampdoria (0-0) and a defeat at
10th placed Atalanta (2-1).

Lazio will no doubt keep it tight again tonight and this game brings
together the classic case of the free scoring home side against the tight
defensive visitor.

I believe Bremen will win tonight's encounter as anything less then a win
as I have previously said will all but eliminate them from the
competition.

They are currently best price 5/6 with Ladbrokes for the win which for me
is a reasonable price. Also for those of you who like historical trends
Bremen have faced Italian opposition 9 times at home and have yet to lose.
I personally feel you can read that stat either way and my reason for
picking Bremen tonight is more to do with the goal threat from Sonogo and
Almeira who between them have already hit 11 this season.

Bremen look set to be able to pick from a fully fit squad tonight whilst
Lazio have a few injury problems. Midfielder Stefano Mauri and defender
Sebastiano Siviglia sustained injuries in Sunday's 1-0 win at AS Livorno,
joining Cribari and Ledesma on the sidelines, also Behrami, Mutarelli and
Goran Pandev, picked up knocks in the Livorno game but should be fit to
play.

So Bremen to beat Lazio @ best price 5/6 with Ladbrokes is my selection
tonight.

As always good luck and happy punting,

Silverfox.

Tonights Champions League Betting

Last night was a mixed bag BMG drew with Cologne 2-2 but the over 2.5 goal
bet served its purpose by coming to the rescue.

Tonight my tip is from the Champions League: PSV Eindhoven to beat
Fenerbache in Group G

These 2 teams are in the same group as CSKA Moscow and Inter Milan and is
one of the tougher groups in this season's competition.

Fenerbache lead the group at the moment with for points after beating
Inter 1-0 at home and drawing 2-2 in Moscow.

PSV have 3 points from their 2 games after losing 2-0 at Inter and BEATING
CSKA 2-1 at home so this is a key game that can shape the group.

In the Dutch league PSV have made a good start with 6 wins and 2 draws in
their 8 matches so far and are 1 point behind leaders Feyenoord at this
early stage of the season, during this time they have won 5 out of 5 home
games scoring 16 and conceding only 1.

Fenerbache are 4th in the Turkish league after an indifferent start to the
season and have a record so far of W4 D4 L1 F13 A8 but the telling stat
for me is that on the road they have yet to win in 4 games with 3 draws
against Manisaspor (14th) 1-1, Bursas or (15th) 1-0, Glenclerbirligi
(13th) 1-1 and a 2-0 defeat at Istanbul BB. The fact that they have failed
to beat 3 mid table sides away from home must be a concern.

These 2 sides meet in the group stages of the 2005-06 Champions league
competition with Fenerbache winning 3-0 at home and PSV winning 2-1 at
their ground.

In all PSV have played 6 Turkish sides at the Philips Stadium and have yet
to lose and I feel that the record will be maintained tonight.

Early team news is that PSV coach Ronald Koeman will be without Ibrahim
Afellay, who has not yet recovered from a broken toe, as well as fellow
defender Manuel da Costa due to an ankle injury and forward Jason Culina
who recently underwent knee surgery.

Fenerbache will have to do without ex PSV forward Mateja Kezman, because
of a groin problem, but Fenerbache coach Zico may call on midfielder
Stephen Appiah, playing again after six months out with a knee injury

So for me PSV to keep up their fine home form with a win at best price 5/6
generally.

Good Luck,

Silverfox.

German Football Betting Tips

Todays match comes from the German 2nd division and the clash between
Borussia Moenchengladbach and Cologne.

Not long ago both sides were forces in the top flight but for various
reasons have found themselves hitting hard times.

This is a derby match so passions should be even higher then usual as both
sides strive for a return to the top flight.

BMG are currently top of the second division on goal difference from
Freiburg and have only lost once in the league so far and that was a 4-1
defeat to 3rd placed Mainz back in August. However on the last 6 games
home and away they have won them all scoring 19 and conceding 6.

Cologne on the other hand are 9th in the league 6 points behind their
rivals today. On the road they have won 2 drawn 1 and lost 1 scoring 8 and
conceding 6 so they will be a tough nut to crack but given BMG`s current
run of form and the fact that Cologne over the last 6 matches has shown
patchy form makes me go for the home side tonight.

Head to head definitely favours the home side tonight and indeed BMG have
won the last 7 meetings on their own ground:

Feb 18, 06 1. Bundesliga Borussia Mönch... 2 - 0 FC Köln
Sep 17, 05 1. Bundesliga FC Köln 2 - 1 Borussia Mönch...
Jan 31, 04 1. Bundesliga FC Köln 1 - 0 Borussia Mönch...
Aug 3, 03 1. Bundesliga Borussia Mönch... 1 - 0 FC Köln
Feb 5, 02 1. Bundesliga Borussia Mönch... 4 - 0 FC Köln
Aug 19, 01 1. Bundesliga FC Köln 0 - 2 Borussia Mönch...
Mar 20, 00 2. Bundesliga FC Köln 1 - 1 Borussia Mönch...
Sep 27, 99 2. Bundesliga Borussia Mönch... 3 - 1 FC Köln
Jan 31, 98 1. Bundesliga FC Köln 3 - 2 Borussia Mönch...
Aug 23, 97 1. Bundesliga Borussia Mönch... 4 - 1 FC Köln

Paddy Power and Stan James are offering 11/10 the home win and given
Borussia`s recent form I feel there is value to be had tonight.

I will be also going for a more speculative bet of over 2.5 goals as BMG
have hit 8 in 3 games at home recently and Cologne have 6 in 3 on their
travels so and at ¾ with Bet365 it is a saver option.

So BMG to win at best price 11/10 and over 2.5 goals at 3 / 4 hopefully
will see me start the week in the right way.

As always good luck,

Silverfox.

Deportivo La Coruna v Valencia

After a break for the international fixtures league football returns and
the game that interests me is the Deportivo La Coruna v. Valencia game
tonight.

Depor have started the season poorly and are in 14th position in the
league at home in the 3 games they have played they have won 1 against
Betis (16th) and lost to Almeria (12th) and Recreativo (13th) with 1 goal
scored and 5 conceded.

Valencia are by far the best side to go to Depor this season sitting in
4th position 4 points off leaders Real Madrid and have won all 3 off their
away games in the league so far beating Recreativo 1-0, Betis 2-1 and
Almeria 2-1 so comparisons can be drawn between both sides.

Indeed it is at home where Valencia have struggled already losing twice to
Villareal and Espanyol. Valencia are currently best price 23/17 with
Expekt and generally still odds against with all bookies and I cannot see
why considering the 2 teams contrasting form.

Even the head to head record seems to favour Valencia as over the last 10
games they have won 3 away from home of the 5 in that time:

May 5, 07 Primera Divi... Deportivo La Co... 1 - 2 Valencia CF
Dec 10, 06 Primera Divi... Valencia CF 4 - 0 Deportivo La Co...
Feb 4, 06 Primera Divi... Deportivo La Co... 0 - 1 Valencia CF
Feb 1, 06 Copa Del Rey Valencia CF 1 - 1 Deportivo La Co...
Jan 19, 06 Copa Del Rey Deportivo La Co... 1 - 0 Valencia CF
Sep 17, 05 Primera Divi... Valencia CF 2 - 2 Deportivo La Co...
Feb 12, 05 Primera Divi... Valencia CF 1 - 2 Deportivo La Co...
Sep 22, 04 Primera Divi... Deportivo La Co... 1 - 5 Valencia CF
Mar 6, 04 Primera Divi... Valencia CF 3 - 0 Deportivo La Co...
Oct 25, 03 Primera Divi... Deportivo La Co... 2 - 1 Valencia CF

The other bet I will be having an investment in tonight will be under 2.5
goals, Depor have only scored 4 goals in 7 league games and only 1 at home
in that time and with Valencia hitting 5 in 3 away matches so far that
points nicely to an under 2.5 goal bet which at present Betfair are
offering at 0.75 and the other bookies at about 4/6 which bearing in mind
the stats is not a bad price.

So Valencia to win @ 23/17 best price
And under 2.5 goals @0.75 with Betfair or 4/6 fixed odds.

Lets hope these two start us back off in the right way with a couple of wins.

Good Luck

Silverfox.

Scotland vs Ukraine Footy Betting

Today I am going for Scotland to beat the Ukraine in their Group B clash
at Hampden this afternoon.

A win today would put Scotland in with a great chance of qualifying with
games away to Georgia and home to Italy to come. After the Scots excellent
win in France they will be up for this game and know that they do not have
to fear anyone in the group.

Ukraine has been disappointing to say the least. Since qualifying for the
last World Cup they have done nothing and in the World Cup itself they
proved that the old days of dull negative football coming out of the
former USSR is still alive and well.

They have great players in Shevchenko, Voronin, and Vorobei but do not
seem to be able to harness that potential into a team. In the qualifier
against Italy in the Ukraine they fought back from a goal down to square
the match and then immediately conceded a goal at the other end, you could
see the heads drop visibly after that and with qualification all but an
impossibility for them I can see the Scots running out winners.

The only away win the Ukraine has picked up in qualifying is 2-0 in the
Faroe Island, whilst they have lost 2-0 to both Italy and France and only
taken a point from Georgia.

The Ukraine will co host the 2012 European Champions along with Poland and
this I believe will along with the 2010 World Cup be their focus, and they
will have to start learning to live without the magnificent Shevchenko who
though he has had nothing short of a nightmare in his time at Chelsea has
a record that few players can equal and though he is woefully short of
confidence is in my opinion still a class act.

They have little if no chance of qualifying for Euro `08 and motivation I
believe will be an issue for them, which is the exact opposite of the
Tartan Army.

Scotland's fate is still in their own hands and a win Saturday and then in
Georgia would make them odds on to qualify and make the Italy game
virtually a dead rubber.

The wins against France both home and away have been deserved and it would
be an injustice to the Scots to say that the French are rebuilding and not
the force of old because one look at their line up would prove that the
majority of their players ply their trade in Europe's top leagues.

It has been over 18 months since the Scotland team lost at home when they
were well beaten by Switzerland 3-1 and they are in truth unrecognisable
from that side the work of Walter Smith and now Alex McLeish has moulded a
talented squad into a team and the results are now coming on the pitch.

Gary Caldwell, Paul Hartley and Darren Fletcher will all miss today's game
but I still believe the Scot's will win the game though it will be a tight
encounter.

The general price of 6/5 a Scotland win is good enough for me to have a
piece of today and hopefully the Scot's will take a giant leap to be in
Austria/Switzerland in the summer.

Good luck

Eircom League Football

The Eircom league is reaching its final stages and Drogheda look to have
the title within their grasp as they are 8 points clear of 2nd place Cork
City.

Cork tonight are at 10th placed Bray tonight and at 4/5 generally for them
to win is the bet I am going for. Drogheda have a tough away match tonight
at 3rd placed Shamrock and with their next game being at home to Cork any
slip in these two matches could just open the door for Cork to make a late
bid for the title.

Tonight is a must win game for Cork and with 6 wins in their last 6 games
scoring 15 and conceding only 5 they must be high on confidence.

During the same period Bray have had 1 win 2 draws and 3 defeats scoring 7
and conceding 10 whilst winning 1 and losing 2 of the home games in that
time, though in fairness the one win they did record was a good 3-0
victory over Shamrock.

The last 10 head to head matches tend to favour Cork with Bray only
recording 1 win at home in that time back in October of last year.

Aug 27, 07 Premier League Cork City 2 - 2 Bray Wanderers
Apr 20, 07 Premier League Bray Wanderers 1 - 1 Cork City
Oct 13, 06 Premier League Bray Wanderers 2 - 1 Cork City
Sep 29, 06 Premier League Cork City 6 - 0 Bray Wanderers
Apr 14, 06 Premier League Bray Wanderers 0 - 0 Cork City
Sep 9, 05 Premier League Cork City 3 - 0 Bray Wanderers
Jun 17, 05 Premier League Bray Wanderers 1 - 2 Cork City
Mar 25, 05 Premier League Cork City 1 - 1 Bray Wanderers
Dec 27, 02 Premier League Cork City 3 - 1 Bray Wanderers
Oct 25, 02 Premier League Bray Wanderers 2 - 3 Cork City

With 7 of the last 10 meetings resulting in over 2.5 goals I will also
have a punt on that market which is currently 6/5 with Blue Square, as
Cork have average 2.5 goals in their last 6 games and Bray having concede
1.6 on average in the same time chances are that we could have a positive
return.

Cork are on an 11 game unbeaten run as they go into this match but will be
with out the suspended captain and central defender Dan Murray as well as
the injured trio of Darragh Ryan, John O`Flynn (midfield) and Joe Gamble
(forward) but even with these players missing the squad should be strong
enough to cope.

Bray will be without captain Clive Delaney and midfielder Mark Duggan for
tonight's game as they are both suspended and long term casualty Colm
Tresson is still unavailable though he is back in training after a heel
injury.

So for me a Cork win and over 2.5 goals to hopefully get the weekend
underway with a win.

Good luck

Blue Square Premiership

A near full set of games in the Blue Square Premiership tonight and the
one that interests me is Aldershot against Ebbsfleet.

Aldershot are 3rd in the league at the moment 1 point behind leaders
Torquay and have a home record in the league so far of won 5 drawn 0 lost
2 scored 16 and conceding 8, and over the last 6 games they have won 4
drawn 1 and lost 1 a record only bettered by Torquay.

In that time the 3 home games they have played have all been won whilst
scoring 8 and conceding 3.

Their opposition tonight Ebbsfleet were known as Gravesend last season and
they currently sit 9th in the league mainly as a result of their strong
home record. Their road trips in the league so far have produced 1 win 4
draws and 2 defeats scoring 6 goals and conceding 8, and their last 3 away
games have all been drawn. They will be tough opposition tonight but I
feel Aldershot will make home advantage tell.

Gravesend are on a 6 match unbeaten run and will be full of confidence
after they beat Torquay at home at the weekend but it is their inability
to turn draws into wins that concerns me when they play away.

I was tempted to go for the draw at 12/5 generally given that both sides
are in reasonable form and Gravesend do play a tight game away from home
and I would certainly not put anyone off the idea but personally I feel
Aldershot need to win tonight to keep in touch with the likes of Torquay
and Stevenage, especially as the latter beat them 3-1 at the weekend, and
manager Gary Waddock who lifted the September manager of the month award
will not want his side to suffer back to back defeats.

The head 2 head record is definitely in favour of Aldershot with an 8 game
unbeaten run in their favour.

Mar 23, 07 N L 1 Confer... Ebbsfleet United 1 - 1 Aldershot Town
Aug 12, 06 N L 1 Confer... Aldershot Town 3 - 2 Ebbsfleet United
Apr 1, 06 N L 1 Confer... Ebbsfleet United 0 - 3 Aldershot Town
Nov 12, 05 N L 1 Confer... Aldershot Town 3 - 2 Ebbsfleet United
Jan 22, 05 N L 1 Confer... Ebbsfleet United 1 - 3 Aldershot Town
Oct 5, 04 N L 1 Confer... Aldershot Town 1 - 0 Ebbsfleet United
Mar 6, 04 N L 1 Confer... Aldershot Town 2 - 2 Ebbsfleet United
Oct 7, 03 N L 1 Confer... Ebbsfleet United 1 - 3 Aldershot Town

Team news from both sides is that Aldershot will have to do without John
Grant, who is suffering from tendonitis whilst Ebbsfleet manager Liam
Daish has no new injury worries.

So for me an Aldershot win at generally 4/5 to hopefully get us back on
track, though it may be worth a saver on the draw.

Good luck,

Silverfox.

Uefa Cup Group Stage Betting

Chelsea got a great 2-1 win in Valencia last night to see off my win bet
but hopefully some of you were on David Villa at 6/1 to get first goal,
luckily for me it was enough to see me turn a profit on the match which at
the end of the day is what it is all about.

Most of my bets as you know are based on form and stats but every now and
then I get a "gut instinct " for a certain outcome and that is the case
tonight for me as I expect Blackburn to qualify for the 2nd round of the
UEFA Cup which is the group stage.

I say qualify as opposed to win the match as Stan James are offering evens
for Blackburn to qualify as opposed to the general 1 to 4 about Blackburn
winning the game.

I was on holiday so missed the first leg when Larissa won 2-0 at home but
by all accounts I have read Blackburn were poor on the night and got what
they deserved.

Tonight I am sure Mark Hughes will get his team motivated for the
challenge and I believe a win for them by the margin required is not
beyond a side that contains players of the quality of Santa Cruz, Bentley,
McCarthy and Matt Derbyshire who in my opinion is a future England
international, every time I have seen him play I have been impressed with
his movement and finishing and he can have no finer manager to help him
develop his game.

Blackburn had a mini slump with the defeat to Larissa followed by a home
defeat to Portsmouth by 1-0 but they have since beaten Birmingham 3-0 in
the Carling Cup and Sunderland away 2-1 in the Premiership and look back
on track.

Prior to that they had been on a long unbeaten run with good results at
Chelsea where they drew 0-0 and at home to Arsenal when they drew 1-1
which has been by far Arsenal's toughest game of the season so far.

Their opponent's tonight Larissa are currently 8th in the Greek league
after 3 games and come into this match off the back of a 2-0 away defeat
to Atromitos at the weekend. They qualified for the UEFA Cup by beating
Panathiaikos 2-1 in the Greek Cup Final last season so are not to be
underestimated, and they also include in their ranks Ibrahim Bakayoko who
Everton fans will remember after he had a short spell with them a few
years back, in fact it was he who got the first goal in the match in
Greece.

I believe if Blackburn can get an early goal momentum will build and they
will go on and win the match by the required margin. The UEFA Cup is an
event I am sure Blackburn would have expected to do well in this season
having gone through the Intertoto Cup to get there and they will not want
to exit at this early stage.

The other bet I fancy tonight is David Bentley at 8/1 for the first goal.
He has been playing well this season and thoroughly deserved his call up
to the senior England squad though the treatment he received from so
called fans left a lot to be desired.

He has shown maturity and has scored 3 times in all competitions for
Blackburn this season including 2 in the last 2 games so hopefully he can
bag one tonight.

So for me it is Blackburn to Qualify for the 2nd round of the UEFA Cup at
evens with Stan James, (remember even an extra time win or penalties
makes this bet a winner).

David Bentley first goalscorer @ 8/1 generally.

As ever good luck and good punting,

Silverfox.

Champions League Football BEtting Tips and Guide

Well 1 from 2 at the end of yesterday's game with Burnley coming back from
2-0 down at home to Ipswich to nick a draw, but at least the over bet came
in and two of the players highlighted in the write up Gray of Burnley and
Lee of Ipswich were on target for their respective clubs and hopefully one
or two of you had them as anytime scorers.

Today I am going for Valencia to beat Chelsea in their Champions League
match at the Mestalla.

Chelsea's problems have been well documented but a team like they have do
not become a bad outfit over night. Obviously the loss of Mourinho is a
massive blow and the players will obviously be unsettled.

But I feel even if Mourinho were still at the helm tonight that Valencia
would still be capable of picking up all three points. Their record at
home in European competition is first rate and they will be eager to
avenge last season's 2-1 defeat in the Mestalla by Chelsea at the Quarter
Final stage.

Valencia have started the season well with 5 wins from their first 6 games
and the only blot on that record being their 3-0 defeat at home in the
opening game of the season against Villareal. They currently sit 3rd in
the league 1 point behind leaders Real Madrid.

Chelsea as most of you will know have had by their standards a slow start
to the season which has not been helped by the loss at various times so
far in the season of Lampard, Carvalho and Drogba three of their key
players and the loss of Drogba in particular has in my opinion cost
Chelsea as without him they loss a great deal of their goal threat.

They are at present 8th in the league already 7 points behind leaders
Arsenal who have a game in hand over them and they have also lost 2 away
games already to Manchester Utd and Aston Villa and the only away win in
the league has come at Reading when they came back from a goal down to win
2-1.

One of the reasons why I feel Valencia will triumph tonight is Chelsea's
current away form which has seen them score only 3 goals in 4 away league
matches whilst conceding 6.

On match day one Chelsea well held 1-1 at home to Rosenborg of Norway
whilst Valencia got a 1-0 win in Germany at Schalke so a win tonight will
put them firmly in the driving seat to qualify from the group even at this
early stage.

Team news from Valencia is that keeper Canizares and defender Marchena
should be fit to play after recovering from knocks, but Fernandes, Edu,
Vicente and Caneira will all miss the match through injury.

Chelsea will again be without the injured Frank Lampard and Ricardo
Carvalho, whilst John Terry is expected to play in a protective face mask
after surgery on a depressed fractured cheekbone, and there is a doubt
over Essen's fitness and he may need a late test before a decision is made
on him.

As far as head to head games are concerned the only previous meetings
between the two sides came in last season's Champions League Quarter Final
match when the first leg in London ended 1-1 and the return in Spain saw
Chelsea come out 2-1 winners.

One other bet I will be having today is in the first scorer market and I
will be going for David Villa at generally 6/1 to get it. I saw him play
at the Emirates in the pre season tournament in August and even though it
was very early into the season for him he showed great movement and pace
and was a constant threat. He is a proven goalscorer and will be a handful
for the Chelsea backline tonight.

So to recap: Valencia to beat Chelsea at generally 5/4
David Villa first goalscorer at 6/1

Good Luck

Silverfox.

Burnley Football Club vs Ipswich

Well 4-4 was a great advert for football but not so good for my wallet! At
least i got something back thanks to the over 2.5 goals bet.

Today i am avoiding the Champions League games which in my opinion are
with a couple of exceptions fairly tight games to call in favour of a
match in the Championship.

Burnley to beat Ipswich Championship £50 @6/5

Over 2.5 goals £50 @5/6

Burnley have started the season well with 3 wins 3 draws and only one
defeat which was a 2-0 defeat at Scunthorpe in their second game of the
season. In that time they have scored 12 and conceded 10 with a home
record of 1 win 2 draws and no defeats, the win came in the opening day of
the season against W.B.A. whilst the draws have been against Blackpool and
Crystal Palace.

They find themselves currently 7th in the league and a win tonight would
move them up to 4th depending on other results.

Ipswich are 15th in the league and have won 3 and lost 3 so far, with all
the wins at home and all the defeats away. In that time they have scored
10 and conceded 11, with 9 of those goals being on the road with only one
going in at the oppositions end, so it is no surprise that I am going for
a Burnley win tonight.

In fairness to Ipswich it must be said that 2 of the defeats on the road
were to Watford (2-0) and W.B.A. (4-0) but the other was last weekend when
they went down 3-0 at Hull.

Both team's can rely on in forwards who have an eye for goal, with Andy
Gray already having hit 4 in the league for Burnley, and Ipswich having
Pablo Counago who has returned to the club following a spell in Spain with
Malaga and Alan Lee who both have 3 so far.

Head to head over recent encounters tend to favour the home side which
hopefully will be the case tonight.

Dec 2, 06 Championship... Ipswich Town 1 - 1 Burnley FC
Nov 4, 06 Championship... Burnley FC 1 - 0 Ipswich Town
Feb 11, 06 Championship... Ipswich Town 2 - 1 Burnley FC
Sep 27, 05 Championship... Burnley FC 3 - 0 Ipswich Town
Nov 6, 04 Championship... Burnley FC 0 - 2 Ipswich Town
Oct 16, 04 Championship... Ipswich Town 1 - 1 Burnley FC
Feb 21, 04 Championship... Burnley FC 4 - 2 Ipswich Town
Oct 14, 03 Championship... Ipswich Town 6 - 1 Burnley FC

The fact that both teams seem to concede as many as they score leads me
into my other bet which is the good old reliable over 2.5 goals. At the
moment the best price I can find for that bet is 5/6 with ExtraBet and VC
Bet so I will take some of that.

The price for a Burnley win is best price 6/5 with Bet365 and Coral and
taking into account Ipswich's recent away form is for me a little bit of
value and again the balance of my holiday Euros will be on them tonight.

Early team news from the BBC Sports site is that Burnley Defender Michael
Duff will miss the game with a knee problem with former Everton stalwart
David Unworthy a possible replacement and Midfielder Chris McCann has a
hamstring problem which will also see him miss out tonight.

For Ipswich Gavin Williams and Richard Naylor are still on the injured
list whilst Jim Magilton could bring in David Wright to replace Alex Bruce
in defence, with Danny Haynes may come in for Alan Lee up front.

So hopefully i will get back on track with these two efforts tonight, as
always good luck,

Silverfox.

Online Casinos & Parlour Games

Online Casinos
Whether you're a serious gambler or a recreational gamer, you'll find many online casino games tailored to your skills, preferences and long-term aspirations. For many online players, casino gaming is simply a leisure pursuit, in contrast to the hundreds of successful online professionals.

Slots
Slots are the ultimate in instant-play gaming - however machines are available in a wide spectrum of complexity, making them suitable for the whole gaming community. Slots permit novice players to get gaming proficiently in minutes, with simple buttons and basic 3-reel, 1-pay-line functionality – replicating the classic pub fruit machine.

Casino gamers can quickly progress their slot gaming and play machines with 5 reels, multiple pay-lines and the classic features such as Free Spins, Multipliers, Nudges, Holds, Scatters and Wild symbols. Slots are available in precise arcade replications, with the same themes found in arcades and land casinos all over the world. In addition, the web has seen the progression of interactive video slots, with feature rich content and interactive bonus games, blending elements of luck and skill – a real hit with console gamers.

Web slot machines deliver a real-feel gaming experience, with genuine sounds and cutting-edge graphics, literally turning your computer into a slot machine interface. One of the latest slot innovations is online slot tournaments, where gamers can battle against other players in an exhilarating gaming session, and walk away with the prize fund.
The fact that you can typically play slots with bets from just 0.01, up to 200.00 per spin illustrates the games appeal for all casino gamers.

Table Games
Just like the original gambling houses of days gone by, all the classic table games are available online, including roulette, poker, baccarat and craps, in addition to newer hi-tech gaming innovations such as the hugely popular video poker.

Many table games are genuine games of skill, responding to techniques such as card counting and allowing expert gamers to get a long-term winning edge over the casino. For serious players, the mega-fast round times and ability to play a huge number of simultaneous hands in games such as video poker can hugely leverage payout potential.
While many pro gamblers flood to the table games, they're equally as popular with casual gamers, delivering beautiful looking games that recreate the atmosphere of hitting a real casino. In effect, you can choose to enter a brash Vegas style game, or opt for elegant, refined gambling. If you're just after entertainment, you may like the bells and whistles found in many games, while those with more professional aspirations are likely to opt for clean, crisp no-nonsense gaming interfaces. The best online casinos offer enough options to suit all gaming preferences.

Parlour Games

Parlour games can deliver frequent payouts and jackpots, however they are essentially games of pure luck. The great aspect of Parlour Games is the fact that you can set a strict gaming budget and treat your playing time as a simple leisure pursuit – with the added bonus of potential wins.

With free-play options and generous new-player bonus worth several hundred pounds, available at the leading online casinos, you can experience the thrill and potential of online gaming without risking a penny of your own cash.

Premier League Footy Guide

A late goal by Juventus was enough to beat local rivals Torino and give us
another winner, though hopefully the next one will not be so tight!

On that subject I am going for Spurs to beat Aston Villa tonight in the
Premier League clash at White Hart Lane.

Spurs early season form has been baffling as I feel they have one of the
best balanced squads in the league and the criticism of Martin Jol is also
something I have trouble understanding.

Spurs sit 18th in the league but that is surely a false position and I
believe it will not be long before they improve on their record of 1 win 2
draws 4 defeats 10 goals scored and 12 conceded. The last of those figures
is the most worrying although they have been without Ledley King for me
they have a deep enough squad to cover his loss and they need to tighten
up their defence sooner rather then latter.

At home Spurs have lost 3-1 to Everton, beaten Derby 4-0 and lost to
Arsenal 3-1 so an over 2.5 goal bet could also prove fruitful.

Their opponents tonight Aston Villa has started to show signs of
developing into a useful team and a win tonight could take them up to 5th.
They have won 3 drawn 1 and lost 2 scoring 7 and conceding 4 so far this
season but their away record is 1 draw and 1 defeat in their 2 games so
far scoring none and conceding 1, drawing at Newcastle and losing 1-0 to
Manchester City.

What tends to sway me in Spurs favour tonight is that they have more in
the way of fire power with the likes of Berbatov, Keane, Darren Bent and
Defoe who to me is worth a place in nearly every other Premiership side.

Spurs will know tonight they cannot have another home horror show and Jol
will I believe rally his team who have shown their support of him, my only
small concern is how Berbatov will play, my personal opinion is that he
has drifted in and out of games more then he did last season and I wonder
if his mind is completely on the job, I thing for sure is that if it is
tonight he will cause the Villa defence more then one or 2 headaches.

As far as Villa are concerned I believe Martin O`Neill is only one or two
players off having a very useful squad. Gareth Barry to me should be an
England regular and they have a strong defence and solid midfield. My
concern is the forward line where Carew has yet to hit form whilst Ashley
Young, Gaby Agbonlahor and Luke Moore are all talented players but are a
season or 2 off the finished article.

History is on Spurs side tonight as Villa have yet to record a win at
White Hart Lane in their last 7 visits and the last meeting at the lane in
December last year saw Spurs come out 2-1 winners with 2 goals from
Jermaine Defoe and with Gareth Barry getting a late strike for Villa.

Team news at the moment is the Jermaine Jenas should be fit to return to
his midfield role for Spurs whilst long term injury victim Ledley King is
still out along with Antony Gardner.

Villa are likely to be missing John Carew for tonight's clash and Shaun
Maloney has an ankle problem which should see him also miss out.

So for me it's a Spurs win at evens with both Skybet and Totesport and I
will also have a small investment on over 2.5 goals also at evens with
Betfair.

Now to prove the lengths I go to bring you winners I have to say for those
that do not know that I am a life long Gooner!! And you will not know how
painful it has been for me to tip a Spurs win tonight!!

Seriously I have a lot of respect for the "smaller" North London side and
hope they don't let me down tonight.

Good Luck

Silverfox.
