Ray Jones was killed in a car crash along with 2 of his friends (Jess Basilua and Adris Olasupo, both 17) after a collision with a bus at 12.20 am on Saturday (27/aug/2007) in High Street South, East Ham. Brothers Mark and Arthur Conrad were also injured. The five boys were all school friends from East Ham. Ray Jones was the driver of the vehicle, a black Volxwagon Golf.
Striker Jones, just 18, had all the attributes needed to be a top quality striker. Size (6,4), strength, aerial prowess, pace, good feet, an eye for goal and the ability to finish in the 6 yard box.
We Are QPR are saddened by the loss of such a young life, and cannot even begin to imagine the loss the Jones family are feeling.

Current QPR manager John Gregory said: "Ray was a beautiful boy. He was a fantastic person with a big heart. He had the potential to go on and be a legend.
It's hit the football club really hard. The players are absolutely devastated."
Ex QPR manager Ian Holloway said: "It's a terrible tragedy. A young life taken away. A young talent gone.
I knew him, he was a great kid and a fantastic talent as well, so my heart bleeds for all of them. For me there's no worse thing than to have to bury your child and I'm so sorry for them."
Chairman chairman Gianni Paladini said: "We are all shocked and saddened by the news. It's a huge loss for this football club.
Ray had the world at his feet and he will be sorely missed by everyone connected to QPR.
Our thoughts at this time are with his family and friends. We will be doing everything we can to help them through this terrible time."
QPR captain Adam Boulder added: "We are all deeply shocked and saddened. Ray was one of us. A footballer with a passion to succeed for himself and for QPR.
It goes without saying that Ray was the most gifted player at the club. He had fantastic raw ability, and was destined for a very bright future, both at club and international level. He was a great character, a very popular figure in the dressing room, and he will be sadly missed.
Words can't really express how we all feel at the moment. It is a tragedy that we are all struggling to come to terms with, but we will pick ourselves up and play our hearts out for Ray.
Every kick, every shot, every tackle will be for him. He was one of us, and will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace."

I'm finding it hard to pick a winner in the West Ham v Manchester City match. I asked the wife for her opinion, but she's also sitting on the fence. I'm now praying for the draw at 9/4, as I need funds for a new fence.
Aston Villa supporters could not be happier with the progress made by Randy Lerner and Martin O'Neill. The giant may still be sleeping, but he's being poked with a pointy stick. Villa are overpriced at 3/1 to kick the season off with a win over Liverpool.
Fulham fans must be devastated. Mohammed Al Fayed gave his manager the green light to sign established internationals; and Sanchez tucked him up on a technicality. The Cottagers have never won away at Arsenal; the Gooners are the weekend banker at 4/11.
I was disturbed to read that Wayne Rooney has outrageously had his chest waxed. There's nothing wrong with connecting with your feminine side, but only when you're trying to find shelter for the little beard-hunter. There's nothing camp about the 1/4 for a Manchester United win over Reading.
I just hope Ryan Giggs doesn't follow Rooney's lead, as the repercussions of dwindling wax reserves could prove catastrophic for small businesses. A little accer on Tottenham, Aston Villa, Arsenal and Manchester United at 13/1 will offer a lifeline to those most under threat.

Ray Jones was killed in a car crash along with 2 of his friends (Jess Basilua and Adris Olasupo, both 17) after a collision with a bus at 12.20 am on Saturday (27/aug/2007) in High Street South, East Ham. Brothers Mark and Arthur Conrad were also injured. The five boys were all school friends from East Ham. Ray Jones was the driver of the vehicle, a black Volxwagon Golf.
