Austria v Scotland Friendly Betting Tips

I have had a look at the Austria v. Scotland friendly in Vienna tonight
and fancy the Austrians to win in a tight game.
Austria are co hosting Euro 08 with Switzerland so have only friendlies to
play before the event starts.
Their friendly record this season has been a mixed bag and reads:
Austria 1 Hungary 2 (Home)
Austria 2 Costa Rica 2 (Neutral)
Austria 0 Venezuela 1 (Nuetral)
Liechtenstein 1 Austria 2 (Away)
Austria 2 Switzerland 1 (Home)
Austria 4 Trinidad & T 1 (Home)
Malta 1 Austria 1 (Away)
Austria 1 Ghana 1(Home)
France 1 Austria 0 (Away)
So as you can see have not set the World alight but home advantage should
be enough tonight as Scotland have horrendous injury problems with Miller,
Pressley, Beattie all of Celtic missing along with Brown (Hibs), Anderson
(Aberdeen) McFadden (Everton), Teale and McEveley (Derby)so are really
down to the bare bones, and their focus will be on the trip to the Faroe
Islands next week in their Euro 08 qualifier.
The last thing Alex McLeish needs is more injuries though the majority of
players listed above should be fit for the Faroes game.
The Scots are 2nd in their group behind Ukraine but ahead of France on
goal difference and 2 points ahead of Italy in what for me is the toughest
qualifying group that also contains Lithuania,Georgia and the Faroes.
So i am going for an Austrian win given the fact that the Scots will have
one eye on their next game and the fact that any squad would miss the
amount of players Scotland have unavailable.
Good luck and happy Punting

The 60 Million Pound Game

The match labelled the £60 million game brings WBA and Derby County to
Wembley for the last of the Play-Off Finals.
In my opinion this match revolves around which Derby side turn up, if it
is the one i watched that surrendered to Crystal Palace in their last away
league match of the season then West Brom are as good as up, however if it
is the side that showed such resolve in winning the first leg Play Off
Semi at St Mary`s against Southampton then we are in for a treat.
West Brom must come into this game with a great deal of confidence given
the way they disposed of local rivals Wolves in their Semi.
Form wise over the last 6 league games of the season their is not much to
go on.
West Brom had 3 wins and 3 defeats, whilst Derby had 2 wins 2 draws and 2
defeats.
The head to head in the league games involving the two sides do not even
give much of an indication with Derby winning 2-1 at Pride Park and West
Brom winning 1-0 at the Hawthorns.
Early team news is that Derby have a full squad to choose from, whilst
West Brom only have long term casualty Curtis Davies missing from their
squad.
I am going to go for West Brom to win in a very tight match at a best
price of 13/10 with among others Blue Square and Corals.

For me in Ellington and Phillips they have the fire power to trouble any
side and in Jason Koumas they have in my opinion the most creative player
outside of the Premier league, and is a player who can open up any
defence.
Derby have had a fantastic season and have by their own admission over
achieved but i feel this is one step to far for them this season and with
rumours that win or lose this could be manager Billy Davies last match
with the club, i will take Tony Mowbray to lead his side to the promised
land of the Premiership next season.
Good luck and happy punting.

League 2 Play Off final at Wembley

Today i have had a look at the League 2 Play Off final at Wembley.

Bristol Rovers take on Shrewsbury in what i believe will be a tight and
entertaining game, however my money will be on Rovers to win.
At best price 11/8 they are a fair bet as they finished the regular league
season as the form team being unbeaten in their last 6 games and winning
at Hartlepool in the last match of the season to clinch their Play Off
place.

Rovers dominated their Play Off Semi Final against Lincoln winning 7-4 on
aggregate which included a 5-3 win in the 2nd leg at Lincoln.
Shrewsbury edged out Stockport on goal difference to make the play offs
and their last 6 games of the regular season brought 2 wins 3 draws and 1
defeat, though they did beat MK Dons 2-1 away to earn their place in the
final.

I am going for Rovers as i feel they have more fire power in all parts of
the field and Shearer the Shrews goalkeeper is unavailable for todays game
as he is actually a Rovers player who has been on loan all season at
Shrewsbury, add the fact that Ben Davies their influential midfielder is
missing for Shrewsbury and that for me gives Rovers the edge today.

Good Luck and happy punting.

Finnish League Gambling Tips

I have gone to the Finnish league today and hopefully have found a game
which can provide us with a bit of value.
The game is AC Oulu v. TPS Turku, Oulu are currently 9th in the league and
TPS are sitting 6th after 6 rounds.
Oulu are best price 21/10 with Bet365 for this game and for a team that
have a home record of W2 D1 L0 F5 A1 and who in their last home game
inflicted a 2-0 defeat on leaders Tampere which incidently is their only
league defeat so far seems a resonable price.
TPS away so far in the league are W1 D1 L0 F3 A1 so by no means a push
over and i expect a close game, but i feel home advantage will tell and i
will be having an investment in this game though i will keep my stake
lower probably 1/2 point of bank.
Good luck to all with what ever you go for.

Champions League Final Prediction

Before i get into the main reason why i'm here, i'd just like to do a few
lines about me (don't worry i'm not an ego maniac!).

I am 49 and have always enjoyed betting, but since ill health forced me to
give up my "proper job" i have turned to punting to earn a living with.
Fortunately for me and the Building Society has provided a steady if
unspectacular income.

I bet on most sports but my main focus is Football especially European and
Jump Racing.

I am an avid Arsenal supporter so i NEVER bet on any game involving them
as one thing i have learnt is never bet with your heart!

As far as football betting is concerned i feel the odds compilers are
pretty spot on in the Premiership and major Euro leagues but the further
down the chain you go there is value to be had.

In this BLOG i hopefully will be able to find some, i cannot guarantee
100% winners but i can assure you that i will never put up a tip i will
not back with my own money.

Well thats the boring bit out the way and now to the point of me being here.
Though the Champions League Final is still a couple of days off I feel I
have found a decent couple of bets.

I have looked at the first goalscorer market as this has been a happy
hunting ground for me especially in this comp and I feel Kaka to be first
goalscorer at a best price 8/1 with William Hills is to good to miss.
He has scored 10 of Milan's 18 goals in the competition this season and
been first goalscorer on 4 occasions.

He has had more shots then anyone in the competition (27) and only
Totti, Drogba and Christiano Ronaldo have been fouled more times, an
interesting stat when you consider he takes Milan's penalties and majority
of free kicks.

The other bet I will only have a small investment in but I again feel it
is value. Paddy Power are offering 14/1 that Kaka will score 2 or more
goals in the game in 90 minutes, considering this is the same price as
they are offering for Crouch and Kuyt I will be tempted to raid Silver
Vixen's purse for a few coins!

Kaka scored a hat trick against Anderlecht in the group stage and 2
against Man Utd in the semi's so he is capable of the feat.

So there we are my first effort i hope it will be a winning one and if
anyone has any comments please feel free to put them forward i would love
to hear from you.

Finally remember as my old granny used to say you last losing bet brings
you nearer to your next winner! But then what did she know!

Good luck all and stay lucky.
