Americans Affect Poker Players Bankroll World Wide

Poker players in the US continue to stay optimistic over new laws concerning online gambling in their country. Recent World Trade Organization disputes are lingering over the UIGEA which are favoring possible legalization of US poker sites.

This week European Union Trade Commissioner, Peter Mandelson in his visit to Congress warned the United States of America that this Gambling Ban could cost them greatly. While he said the $100 billion dollar compensation being sought by trade partners was over exaggerated, the affected countries will be seeking fair and just compensation.

The regulations to stop poker deposits from being made are currently being discussed. If these regulations go through and poker players in the US find it hard to make deposits it will affect poker player's bankrolls worldwide. While many online card rooms have adopted language specific software and become global, these markets are still being tested. The US market still makes up the large majority of players, and easy money for poker pros and recreational players.

Also this week a regulatory organization said the proposed regulations to stop gambling transactions in the United States had significant problems. These significant problems could lead to more delays and hopes of eventual legalization. This group is said to have significant persuasion power and is called the Center for Regulatory Effectiveness.

More news is expected this week as the US House Judiciary Committee will meet to discuss online wagering in the US on November 14th. This comes after House Rep. John Conyers joined as a co-sponsor to the bill HR 2610 The Skill Games Protection Bill.
