Eircom League Football
The Eircom league is reaching its final stages and Drogheda look to have
the title within their grasp as they are 8 points clear of 2nd place Cork
City.
Cork tonight are at 10th placed Bray tonight and at 4/5 generally for them
to win is the bet I am going for. Drogheda have a tough away match tonight
at 3rd placed Shamrock and with their next game being at home to Cork any
slip in these two matches could just open the door for Cork to make a late
bid for the title.
Tonight is a must win game for Cork and with 6 wins in their last 6 games
scoring 15 and conceding only 5 they must be high on confidence.
During the same period Bray have had 1 win 2 draws and 3 defeats scoring 7
and conceding 10 whilst winning 1 and losing 2 of the home games in that
time, though in fairness the one win they did record was a good 3-0
victory over Shamrock.
The last 10 head to head matches tend to favour Cork with Bray only
recording 1 win at home in that time back in October of last year.
Aug 27, 07 Premier League Cork City 2 - 2 Bray Wanderers
Apr 20, 07 Premier League Bray Wanderers 1 - 1 Cork City
Oct 13, 06 Premier League Bray Wanderers 2 - 1 Cork City
Sep 29, 06 Premier League Cork City 6 - 0 Bray Wanderers
Apr 14, 06 Premier League Bray Wanderers 0 - 0 Cork City
Sep 9, 05 Premier League Cork City 3 - 0 Bray Wanderers
Jun 17, 05 Premier League Bray Wanderers 1 - 2 Cork City
Mar 25, 05 Premier League Cork City 1 - 1 Bray Wanderers
Dec 27, 02 Premier League Cork City 3 - 1 Bray Wanderers
Oct 25, 02 Premier League Bray Wanderers 2 - 3 Cork City
With 7 of the last 10 meetings resulting in over 2.5 goals I will also
have a punt on that market which is currently 6/5 with Blue Square, as
Cork have average 2.5 goals in their last 6 games and Bray having concede
1.6 on average in the same time chances are that we could have a positive
return.
Cork are on an 11 game unbeaten run as they go into this match but will be
with out the suspended captain and central defender Dan Murray as well as
the injured trio of Darragh Ryan, John O`Flynn (midfield) and Joe Gamble
(forward) but even with these players missing the squad should be strong
enough to cope.
Bray will be without captain Clive Delaney and midfielder Mark Duggan for
tonight's game as they are both suspended and long term casualty Colm
Tresson is still unavailable though he is back in training after a heel
injury.
So for me a Cork win and over 2.5 goals to hopefully get the weekend
underway with a win.
Good luck
Silverfox
