Blue Square Prem
Droylsden v. Stevenage Blue Square Prem
Droylsden were promoted to the Blue Square Premiership at the end of last
season and have made a slow start to the season with only 2 points in the
first 6 matches and their last game was a 2-1 home defeat to Grays.
Stevenage on the other hand have started the season well and are 2nd one
point behind leaders Torquay at this early stage they have 4 wins I draw
and 1 defeat to show for their efforts so far and the only blot on their
record was a 2-1 defeat at Crawley.
I have had an ante post bet on Stevenage to win the Blue Square Prem this
season as they have a settled squad and have gone about tightening a
defence that conceded 66 goals last term when they finished 8th.
Goals were not a problem last year with 76 being scored in the league and
if they can just tighten up at the back they will be sure to challenge for
promotion to League 2.
They showed signs of this in their last game at Ebbs fleet (formerly
Gravesend) when they came away with a 1-0 win.
To be fair to Droylsden the fixture computer could have been kinder with
them having to face the likes of Aldershot, Halifax, Exeter and Grays so
early on in the season but I feel their focus will be on survival at this
level for the coming season and that Stevenage just have the edge for
tonight's match.
Both sides look set to name unchanged teams for tonight's game and at
10/11 I feel Stevenage are a good bet to get the win tonight in what I
also feel will be a low scoring match.
