Champions League Qualification
Rangers to beat Red Star Champions Lge 3rd Qual Rnd 1st Leg at best price
8/11 with Betfred.
Rangers have started the season well in the league with 2 wins from 2
games a 3-0 away win at Inverness and a 2-0 home win on Saturday against
St Mirren.
They also had a comfortable win 3-0 on agg against Zeta in the previous
round.
Rangers seem to be a more solid outfit then last season and could launch a
real challenge for the title this season.
With a host of new signings including
Cuellar,Darchville,Gow,Beasley,McCulloch and Whittaker amongst others they
have cover in all departments.
Red Star are not the force they once were but are not a side to under
estimate.
They played their first league game on the season on Saturday which ended
in a 1-1 home draw against Cukaricki, and in the previous round only just
got past Levadia Tallinn of Latvia on the away goals rule after a 2-2 agg
draw.
Early team news for Rangers is that Sasa Papic could miss out due to an
ankle knock but Hemdani is due back into the squad after missing out at
the weekend.
Red Star will be without a trio of midfielders in Basta (Suspended) and
Burzanovic and Lucas injured
though Lucas does have a chance of playing if he passes a late fitness test.
The two sides have met before in the old European Cup in season 1990/91
the year Red Star won the competition,on that occasion Red Star won 4-1 on
agg but they are far from that side these days.
At 8/11 best price with Betfred i think Rangers will get the win they need
to take a lead to Serbia and hopefully will keep a clean sheet.
The other bet i will have is a small investment on Barry Ferguson to score
the first goal.
Ferguson has scored 3 in 2 games so far and at 12/1 is a good value price.
Good luck and good punting,
Silverfox.
