Atletico Madrid to beat Gloria Bistrita: Despite the loss of Torres to Liverpool , Madrid 's squad is packed with internationals and should have too much for Gloria, even on their home ground. After their failure to qualify for an automatic UEFA cup place, Atletico's fans will demand progress from this competition.
Trabzonspor to beat Otelul: After scoring ten goals in the second round, the Turks will not be short on confidence and this trip to Romania should hold no fears for them.
AA Gent v AaB (Intertoto Cup) - The Belgians had a comfortable 6-0 aggregate win over Cliftonville in the last round and will expect to take a decent advantage over to Denmark for the second leg. In contrast, Aalborg sneaked through on away goals in the second round and their defence will have to tighten up against in form Gent strikers, Foley and Olufade.
FK Vetra v Blackburn Rovers (Intertot Cup) - After Legia Warsaw were thrown out of the competition, Lithuanian side Vetra found themselves facing Premiership opposition in this third round. Blackburn 's squad is little changed from last season and they will be looking for an extended European run. Don't expect Mark Hughes to field anything less than a full strength team for this one.
Bet £20 win double on AA Gent & Blackburn Rovers.
Hajduk Kula v Leiria (Intertoto Cup)
Serbian side Hajduk Kula produced an upset in the last round thanks to a thumping 5-0 home win over much fancied Maribor . Confidence will be high and I'm backing them to beat their Portuguese visitors, Leiria, whose away form wasn't particularly good last season. Whilst they will do well to match their performance in the previous round (they were four goals up at half time), Kula will certainly take the game to their opponents from the first whistle.
Bet £10 on Hajduk Kula to lead at half time and full time...
Cherno More v Sampdoria (Intertoto Cup)
Whilst Sampdoria are a famous name in Italian and European football, they were less than impressive on their travels in Serie A last season. Away from the Stadio Luigi Ferraris they only managed four wins, scoring just 14 goals in 19 games. Bulgarian side Cherno More, from Varna , crushed their second round opponents 7-0 on aggregate and will fancy their chances of finding the net in front of fanatical home support.
