Eircom League Gambling
Before i give my tip for today a quick line on yesterday`s tip.
I am still sitting here scratching my head and wondering how Honka blew a
3-1 lead against Oulu to eventually draw 3-3!
However thats football i suppose and one of the reasons we come back for
more!
On to today and i`m going for Shamrock Rovers to beat St Patrick`s in the
Eircom League Premier division game tonight.
This is a top of the table clash with Shamrock in 3rd 2 points behind
St.Patrick`s in 2nd and 4 points behind leaders Drogheda, so tonights game
is vital to both sides hopes of challenging for the title.
Shamrock at home this season in the league have won 7 drawn 1 lost 1
scored 12 and conceded 2 compared to St Pat`s away record of W4 D2 L3 F11
A8.
Over the last 6 games however Shamrock have won 4 drawn 2 lost 0 scored 10
and conceded only 1 which is the best record over the period along with
leaders Drogheda.
St Pat`s record over the same period reads W2 D1 L3 F8 A9 to show for
their efforts and have been inconsistent in that time.
Shamrock are best price 13/8 with Stan James at the time of writing and as
the form team i am hoping they can keep their current good run going with
a win especially given the fact that St Pat`s still have the distraction
of the UEFA Cup where they face a tricky away 2nd leg at Odense in Denmark
after a 0-0 home draw last week.
The recent head to head record of the two sides reads:
St Patrick's Athletic 2 - Shamrock Rovers 1
St Patrick's Athletic 0 - Shamrock Rovers 0
Shamrock Rovers 8 - St Patrick's Athletic 1
Shamrock Rovers 0 - St Patrick's Athletic 2
St Patrick's Athletic 1 - Shamrock Rovers 4
which does not give to many clues to how tonight`s game will turn out.
Early team news is that St Pat`s will be missing Foley in defence,Ndo in
midfield and O`Neill in attack, while Shamrock will be without Paul Shiels
in midfield,Captain Aiden Price in defence and goalkeeper Steve O`Brien.
As a side line this game brings together the leagues 2nd and 3rd top
scorers in the league this season,Quigley of St Pat`s has 11 and Purcell
of Shamrock has 10, and it could well be that one of these two marksmen
will win the game for their teams.
At the time of writing i was trying to find a first goalscorer market for
this game as Purcell has netted first 6 times and Quigley 5,with a strike
rate of 50% and over to goals scored would definitely be worth a small
flutter on both as a side bet.
So for me it hopefully will be Shamrock to come out on top in a tight
match at best price 13/8.
Good Luck and good punting,
Silverfox.
