Copa America Quarter Finals
Well yesterday`s bet couldn't of been more wrong if i had tried,however as
an optimist i took the positives out of it.
I had backed Uruguay at 14/1 pre tournament to reach the final and was
beginning to think i could write that money off,but as i watched them
demolish Venezuela 4-1 and Forlan finally kick into form i had a warm glow
appear around my wallet! All they have to do now is beat a Brazil side who
beat Chile 6-1 in their semi and i`m laughing!!
Seriously i urge any of you who have not seen the Copa America to find
time to watch a match,the quality of football has been superb and with 62
goals scored already in the event,12 coming in the first 2 quarter finals
you will not be disappointed.
Today`s bet is from one of the other quarter finals taking place tonight.
I am assuming Argentina will beat Peru and at 2/7 best price there is no
value there so i am going for Paraguay to beat Mexico.
Paraguay finished 3rd in the World Cup South American qualifying campaign
behind Brazil and Argentina,and you will probably remember the Group match
in Germany when England won a very tight match 1-0 in extremely hot
conditions.
Paraguay have come on since then and to be vie with Uruguay as the 3rd
best side in South America.
They came through their group comfortably beating Colombia 5-0 and the USA
3-1,in their final "dead" game they lost narrowly 1-0 to Argentina in a
match where both sides rested several key players.
Mexico came through their group having beaten Brazil 2-0 in their first
match a result which was largely responsible for giving the Brazilians the
kick up the rear they needed.
They then went on to beat Ecuador 2-1 and draw 0-0 with Chile.
Considering that this is a relative "B" side for Mexico having made the
Concacaf Gold Cup their priority they have done amazingly well.
I expect this to be an entertaining game as both sides have flair players
but at 9/4 Paraguay to win with Bet 365 and Expekt i am favouring them to
win.
For me Paraguay have the edge in defence and in the forward line they have
Roque Santa Cruz of Bayern Munich who is always a threat in front of goal.
He is my next bet. At 7/1 with various book makers to score the first goal
in the match he i feel is a bit of value (my favourite word)as he has
already hit a hat trick in the competition in the 5-0 win over Colombia.
My other bet today will be the ever popular over 2.5 goals. I have this
feeling that the game win end 2-1 to Paraguay and though i am not going to
put any money on the correct score market i will have a bit of the 6/5

Roque Santa Cruz (Paraguay) 1st goal at best price 7/1 with various bookies.
