Copa Ameria Betting Picks
We the luck of the Irish was truly with me last night as a last minute
goal saw Drogheda scrape home, but neverthe less a wins a win.
Today i am back on to the Copa America which has now reached the quarter
final stage, and in particular i am looking at the Venezuela v. Uruguay
match.
I think it is fair to say both teams have done the absolute minimum to
qualify for this stage of the competition, and i have been particularly
disappointed in Uruguay who were my anti post bet to reach the final.
They have taken one of the strongest squads and in Forlan have a proven
goalscorer but have only scored 1 goal.
Venezuela topped their group by beating Peru and drawing with Bolivia and
Uruguay.
Home advantage has been a massive boost for them in the competition.
I am going to go for the draw after 90 minutes at best price 9/4 with
Skybet as i am taking the view that unlike the group stages which saw
plenty of goals up to the final round of matches this game will be tight
with both sides scared to lose.
In Forlan and Recoba Uruguay have two world class players who have yet to
perform in the tournament and it could be today that they do get their act
together but with home support Venezuela will be hard to crack and i can
see this match going all the way to penalties.
I am also going to have a bet on under 2.5 goals therefore breaking with
the trend of the group matches again for the reasons stated above that
defences i feel will dominate this game, though the best price of 4/6 will
not make us rich i feel it is a fairly safe bet.
My final bet is a speculative bet for low stakes on the first goal scorer
market, Christiano Rodriguez of Uruguay for me has been on of the few
players from that side to stand out,his work rate is excellent and he is
not afraid to have a shot at goal,at 20/1 best price with Stan James the
Paris St German midfielder is worth a small investment in.
One word of caution however if you go have a flutter on him,be careful of
which Rodriguez you bet on there are two in the Uruguay side the other
being left back Dario of Schalke in Germany, mind you he is best price
50/1 with Betfred and has scored 4 goals for the national side!
So to recap:
Venezuela to draw with Uruguay at best price 9/4 with Skybet.
Under 2.5 goals at best price 4/6 with various book makers.
Christiano Rodriguez (Uruguay) first goal at best price 20/1 with Stan
James. (small stake advised).
As ever good luck and happy punting.
