David Beckham has been recalled to the England squad by manager Steve McClaren, and not before time. Not sure why Becks was dropped really. It is fantastical thinking to think Aaron Lennon is anywhere near as effective as Becks on a football pitch.
The final product is what matters, not looking dynamic by running at people all day. Aaron Lennon has absolutely no chance of playing for Real Madrid at the moment, if ever. I doubt he would even make the bench for the Spanish giants.
The unhappiest will be the Beckham boo-boys, including many fans, soccer pundits and much of the press. But the fact is David Beckham is a big gun who worries the opposition if he is on the ball anywhere near 40 yards out, especially from dead ball positions.
England play Brazil in a friendly on the 1st of June at Wembley, followed by an away game in Estonia in a Euro qualifier. The Estonians will not be pleased to see Beckham on the pitch, or even on the bench, make no mistake about that.

I think that recalling David Beckham was a very good idea.He has experience and always encourages his team mates. I do feel sorry for Jermaine pennant because he has been playing really well and he didn't get an england call up.
By the way, have you beeen on this site.

Well I for one was happy as a pig in shit, that oaf should never have got rid of him in the first place.
For the first time in too many games to count, I actually had hope that we would score, Beckham gives us that hope, and I think that the past few months without him have proved that we just do not create enough without him.
I still say sack Mclaren, and Venables too. I think he's the most over-rated person in football.
Those people calling for him to take over as manager should remember that his record over the past few years, when he managed at Leeds and Boro for a short while doesn't bear close scrutiny.
