The US Takes Another Step Towards Banning Online Gambling

Whether or not this legislation will actually make it through to presidential signature before the end of the legislative session, with only about a month's worth of legislative days to go, is somewhat up in the air.

Is this all about tax revenue, the US admin's failure to secure a slice of the online gambling pie? Or are Goodlatte and Leach genuinely anti-online gambling in their hearts of hearts?

Would the US legislature pause for one second to outlaw online gambling if they actually knew any of the real dirt that is the online gambling industry's day to day operational norm?

Methinks not.

Bingo Brandy

Brandy's Bingo Place is a website that caught my eye on my travels across the online gambling world today.

Nicely built template in pink, small in size, simply done and to the point. Most importantly, Brandy's Bingo Place is built with the online bingo player in mind. That means Brandy knows not all online gaming establishments are on the up and up. Winning money while gambling online, only to not get paid out, is beyond bothersome.

Brandy says - "When you sign up through one of the bingo links on my site I will stand behind you the player. I have a link to a watchdog forum (bingo only) so you can voice any complaints about any sites you may have problems with.

I promise to take every complaint serious and will check into any matters that involves anyone that signs up through one of my links. If a site is found to be cheating or refuses to pay out winnings I will drop them from the list and post against any such site."

Gamblog Comment - Nice to see a responsible gaming webmaster pop up from nowhere, rather than the usual dross pumped out by gaming affiliates. Good luck Bingo Brandy.

Poker Bodyguard Freeware

The Poker Bodyguard Blurb includes this claim - "We monitor all the top online poker rooms 24 hours a day and then share this info in realtime with you to expose POKER TEAMS, pro's who win large percentage of games, players on the leader boards, and users with many complaints."

Gamblog Comment - Poker Bodygaurd sounds like a great idea to me. There is a need for this type of freeware to be available to online casino players. The online casino analyser project was something similar, but that went down in flames. Let's hope the poker bodyguard does not share the same fate.

What the issues there are regarding the Poker Bodyguard possibly monitoring, gathering and/or sharing online poker players personal information are unknown as yet.

English Harbour casino conclusively dealing non-random video poker

It was recently reported at Casinomeister that English Harbour casino was dealing a cheating video poker game:

Other forum members joined in the test, and the final result was a total of 1537 hands, with only 522 wins recorded.

This represents a probability of approximately one in 2,016,352,813,782,491,278,292,828,543,127,849,349.

By comparison, the probability of sitting down at a blackjack table and watching the dealer deal himself 27 consecutive blackjacks in about one in 305,473,160,200,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 - which is actually somewhat LESS improbable!

Here is an extract from what English Harbour had to say in response to the allegation:

In other words: Englsh Harbour ran their own test and could find nothing wrong.

Not a very convincing argument in the face of the evidence.

Michael Shakleford, the Wizard Of Odds, has now been called in to do an "audit", as he is apparently the official auditor for English Harbour:

Whatever Michael does or does not discover, the fact remains that the results of this test were far, far, far more conclusive than Michael's own test of Casino Bar in his Casino Bar experiment.

English Harbour are conclusively dealing non-random video poker.
