PartyGaming "rightsizes" 800 workers
Party gaming wielded the axe at it's India based operation firing 800 employees. The retrenchment came just weeks after the US strengthened it's anti online gambling stance by the introduction of new laws. PartyGaming, the world?s largest online poker company, responded by shedding all of it's US players representing over 70% of it's customer base. Sources said that ""The company is rightsizing its operations in order to go forward in the best shape in the current business scenario." It is believed that the majority of these ex-employees were low to mid level and that most left with some form of severance package.
PartyGaming has existing customers in the Philippines, Singapore and China and is looking to expand in Asia overall.
