PartyGaming back on the Euro acquisition trail
PartGaming PLC is in negotiations to buy some part of the Austrian betting giant Bwin.com. This comes after the PartyGaming reported that its sports betting operation Gamebookers had "exceeded expectations". Gamebookers was acquired by the world's largest online poker outfit in a deal worth just over 100 million in August of this year. PartyGaming spokesman John Shepherd declined to comment on the potential acquisitions, however a Source close to PartyGaming said that online bingo and casinos are also being looked at as acquisition targets.
Mr. Shepard did comment on the recent axing of some 800 party Gaming staff.
"Out of the 1,750 staff in India, we had to let go of 800," he said.
