While on holiday, I took a walk down to the local bookmakers (william hills). England were 5-4 to overcome a 4-0 handicap against the minnows of Andorra. As I was on holiday, I did not lay into the price too heavily, just a little wager.
The score was 5-0, with the goals coming from Peter Crouch(2), Jermaine Defoe(2) and Stephen Gerrard. Hence, England covered the spread, I was happy enough, so was McClaren and even Ian Wright on the BBC thought we played reasonably well.
Pretty much, that was it for me. The game was not a spectacle, never was going to be, but England performed well enough I guess and I paid a visit to the payout till at the bookies on the way home from my break away.
Tommorow is Macedonia away. A slightly tougher match, I think England will scrape a 2-0 win.
