Bookies Seeing Big Business For Monkeys (bill hill press release)
Bookmakers William Hill have seen a countrywide gamble for both the Arctic Monkeys and Richard Hawley to win the prestigious Nationwide Mercury Prize. As a result Hills have cut the price of both acts winning, the Arctic Monkeys are now the 11/4 favourites (cut from 5/1) with Richard Hawley priced as the 3/1 second favourite from an original quote of 8/1. 'All the early money has been for the Monkeys and Richard Hawley, punters seem convinced that it is a two horse race but the judges are anything but predictable, so there is some good value to be had elsewhere.' said Hills spokesman Rupert Adams.
