Rumour has it, that Carragher will be dropped from the right back spot, to be replaced by Hargreaves. Apparently Carrick may play behind the midfield 4 of Joe Cole, Beckham, Lampard and Gerrard, with Rooney up fronrt on his own. Peter Crouch will be on the bench.
For a staunch 4-4-2 exponent, Sven sure has changed his tune if he lines up in the quarter finals of the "Fifa World Cup of Soccer" with a 4-1-4-1 formation.
Hopefully Lampard and Gerrard will be able to push forward at will when we have the ball in attacking positions, with Carrick playing the holding role in front of the back four.
We shall see - Come on England!
